BFG RMA question

That's very odd.

Don't think my mate would be telling fibbs.

I did not say he was. I just relayed on what I was told less than an hour ago. Let us wait and see what I get from them. I got fed up with waiting and purchased a KFA2 (Galaxy) GTX 460 LTD edition OC. Whatever I get from them is going straight on the bay and then I am shot of the problem.

I would not be surprised if Jason has been told to say what he said to me, and then the warehouse sources cards of another manufacturer (no name 480) and distributes it as a replacement. For starters the GTX 295 is not made anymore and if you buy one from another manufacturer it is old stock.

This is painful. I have my 9800gtx+ that I was going to sell to my brother, but now that it's looking like the warranty might be useless in a few months, I am thinking of getting it on the bay just to get rid.

I got confirmation from BFG of my RMA (8800GT OC2) this morning, so there may still be some hope. Just to confirm what's already been said, here's an extract from the email:

I apologize for the inconvenience but the procedures have changed. Hold onto the card and in 10-30 business days you will receive a replacement with a pre-paid shipping label. Once you have received this you can send back your defective card.

I don't have my invoice or payment details since I purchased mine years ago, but it's still in warranty I believe.

Has anyone had a successful RMA with BFG with none of the above? I was thinking the serial number and model number would be fine (like Logitech)

If it is a very recent model then you get 2 years. If you did not register on the BFG site with the older cards to get the 10 years, you are out of luck.

http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr88640gtsoce.aspx , was purchased sometime in 2007, so according to the BFG site, it doesn't matter if I registered it or not?

If it does, that sucks. Why can't they be like Logitech and have an easy site to browse and RMA stuff :(

"Your proof of purchase has been entered. In order to continue with the RMA
process, please go to BFG and register your card online."

It won't even accept my card details :( (purchased in 2007 8800GTX OC2)

Update news!

The rma for my rma for my rma for my broken 8800 has arrived! A shiny new 260 maxcore 55 with a strange weird looking blue pcb. That makes for 2 black, one green and now a blue.

So far, so good, it hasn't died on arrival, or crashed when put under any load. Fingers crossed I've received a goodie, finally.

How long did you wait?
Update:
I got it...

I received my card back from BFG yesterday afternoon, I shipped it to wales on the 5th. I must have grabbed one from the very last shipment.
For me it's strange, some ppl were told by BFG to wait till replacement card arrive first and the others are still sending their cards direct to USA. Well, good that I'm not playing that much now, my on-board HD4250 is just enough for Battlefield 2142 on low - which setting I use anyway on any card.

RMA on its way

Hi i just checked the status of my RMA on the BFG Site and it has been sent, i sent my card to wales at the beginning of the month and they updated their website on the 5th july, so it's only been about 15 days, the tracking info has the code GFGTX260MC896OCXE so it looks like im getting the the same card back as i sent (gtx 260 ocx), i just hope it works ok, i thought i would never see my card again but there is hope for everyone :D:D

As far as I'm aware you always needed proof of purchase with BFG. The 8800 series and below however didn't need registering for the 10 year warranty.

Setter, if you know where you got it from, just contact the retailer and they will usually forward a invoice to you.
