9 runs done so far in morzine and les gets. 2 tyres and a saddle written off so far. And a whole day has gone by without me crashing. Shockaroony.

Hopefully you didnt tick the the main pleney and Chevannes, I wont be a happy bunny with you! :D

Go have lunch at that Cafe in es gets, where all the riders go, and have an Americano burger! :D

Come to the meet and find out ;)

I keep mentioning it to the gf but I don't think shes going to let me, I might just turn up and tell her I forgot about the wedding I'm meant to be at! As the saying goes.. Its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask permission! :)

Unless it is your wedding then there is no need to go.

If you stick to PLeney and Chevannes the whole holiday, I WILL cut your balls off

He is quite safe then bearing in mind he has none :p

Why do these things never look very steep in photographs!

Been riding locally and exploring some of the areas where I have seen guys with FS/DH bikes going. It looks moderate there, but once you are at the top it seems steep as heck, especially if you go off the stump!

There is also the possibility of wiping someone out walking their dog at the bottom, and you need to get up the other side!

I've just been fettling with the bike and I've noticed that after today's outing, when in the middle front ring and the twoossibly the front derailleur?

Any ideas what it could be / how to sort it?

In english? I'm always having trouble with my twoossibly :D

Haha, I have absolutely no idea what happened there, I think I was starting one sentence without finishing the previous one and they sort of blended together. :o

I meant to put 'when in the middle front ring and the smallest two rear rings, it sounds like the chain is rubbing against something.'

It will most likely be rubbing on front mech cage, you need to adjust the indexing screws to move the cage but if your bike is shifting well it could mess things up; a small turn could do the trick without changing things to much. Mine rubs lightly in some gears but nothing I can do about it.

My legs are dead. I decided to put some practice in before Cannock so instead of taking the bike in the car, I rode there instead. 26 miles later and my legs feel like jelly; worst of all though is that my bumcheeks feel like they are down to the bone. I need a new saddle :(.

Haha, I hear ya! Mine hurts after a similar distance. Surprisingly, I don't ache today that much which is interesting. All that running here and there is obviously paying off.

As for the saddle, game on. I'm on the lookout for one that suits the unique aesthetics of the Arserider, so will try and keep you in the loop. How are your grips holding out?

Do yourself a favour and get some padded shorts in the meanwhile. Definitely going to wear mine on the Lon-SoS ride.

I'll remember to take a photo before I take the bike out next.

Thinking of getting back into biking. I used to ride all the time, but I stopped about 4 years ago as all my mates stopped.
I've seen that there's quite a few clubs and things locally so once I get back into biking I'll join one of them.

I have a question, since I bought my last bike about 4 years ago, I've grown quite a lot. I've got a Saracen Raw 2 but I'm now 6"2, so when I went to sit onto the bike the other day it felt too small.

Would I be better off getting a new bike completely, or could I keep the frame and then just change the forks and sadle etc.

tbh if it feels to small it probably is and changing the saddle and forks won't help it fit you any better, my opinion is to get a new bike, get a hardtail, the cheap full suspension are rubbish, when i say cheap anything under £500,but you can get a decent hardtail for under 500.

As far as I'm aware, it's healthy for DH bikes to be a little smaller due to the nature of what they're intended for

I'd say the opposite - but that's possibly just personal prefs.
For a DH bike, it's best to have it longer and therefore more stable at higher speeds.
