Juicy 7 carbons :D

My mate has juicy 7's(maybe 5 but he has full X0 kit so i dunno) but we ordered carbon levers and res caps in....£25 a lever! he also got the matchmaker clamps for them! Gonna look pimp with the X0 shifter mated to the brake.

I like the feel of my saint brakes on the bike......but havent ridden them to see how good they are. They feel very nice though.

Can I keep the discs I already have on the GT or do I need (or it's recommended) to have the discs with the Avids (or Shimanos)?

If you buy the avids.....you will get new rotors and mounting adapters so you can run whatever you want.

Try and stick with rotors for the specific brakes.Im running C2's wide ass 2pison caliper.....on a hope Mono rotor....which is small and thin....i get a lot of vibration through the lever because of the rotor arms being the braking surface.

That is going to end in disaster. I ran my Mini (old style) with a floating rotor briefly. Because there isn't enough braking surface the brake doesn't work as well and the calliper eventually seized.

No worries. I'd rather replace the whole lot as my experience wiht the Hayes Soles has been less than good.

technically not fully hydraulic?
what are the saints like?

Don't know what the Saints are like.

As for the Hayes Sole, the calipers aren't operated under a full hydraulic system. I can't explain it but was shocked when I read about in on a MTB site. Google it if you really want to find out more... However, all you need to know is Soles suck...big time.

I wanted a new bike just to bomb around the streets but can't afford the types of mountain bikes I like so I picked this up instead.

It's a Schwinn Alloy SS Cruiser. I'ts really comfortable and i'm loving the rear coaster brake. People actually compliment me on it as well, which i've never had before lol.

yeh they do suck...... there is so much I want to get for my bike.. so annoying, one thing replaced leads to another. becuase I want to dirt jump, I need some new wheels, but my forks will probably brake too at some point but all of the good forks now seem to be maxel :( what are the cheapest dirt jumping wheels, that are QR?

Get the wheel built with a hub that can be switched between QR and bolt through. My Hope does both, and was only £50 or so.

And the SRAM kit above looks amazing!

It's my first time on a road bike in ~ 14 years so no real comparison with other road groups as my riding has been MTB recently. Only put the bike together on Wednesday and managed a quick 8 miles last night. But very pleased with it so far :)

Currently it's about 16lbs, 7.25KG :)

Soles are a single piston disk brakes.....basically a mechanical disk brake with fluid hose. The inside pad is fixed and only the outside pad is hydraulic. It can be set up to work ok but they last about a month at best.
