Motolite is nice but a friend just broke his frame. Which model are you looking at?

I was looking at the Titus Racer X. Had a demo ride today and it really flew, climbed like a beast and very durable on the downhills.

The new roadbike, full SRAM Force groupo, Ritchey Protocol WCS wheels, bars and stem.
Wow that is one nice looking bike. I usually hate the look of road bikes but that is very nice indeed.

Just got back from the local bike store.

They were unable to beat the price of £325 for the Giant Terrago Disc 2007. The closest they could get was a Claud Butler Cape Wrath D27 for £425 which is a good price for the Wrath, but over my budget.

They also offered a Diamondback Response Sport 2007, but this was also over £400.

So it looks like it's going to be the Terrago Disc 2007. I've now started thinking about the fact that I'm gonna have to assemble it myself. this voids the warranty right? Is this the warranty of the whole bike or of the individual components themselves?

I reckon the amount of money I'm saving by buying online still offsets voiding the warranty.

It should just be a case of straightening the bars, and putting the wheels on. This is how they ship from the factory, so I doubt it would void any warranty.

Ah excellent. I wondered if the guy in the shop was pulling my leg when he mentioned voiding the warranty if I bought online. :p

Thats my bike, its about 3 or 4 years old now, I used it one full summer, then stopped using it about 1 or 2 years and it was stuck in the rain and got rusty, started using it again, its ok, will need a new one for the road, as you can see it has seen better days, those rubber things on the suspension came off and I cant seem to get them back on, disk brakes worn, and the pedals have been changed along with the gears on the pedals or something and the thing that connects the pedals, new tires, only 40PSi and there too soft and slow me down.

The disk brake is off my old apollo vendeta or w/e it was called, that fell apart when I was riding it, litrally so I put the disk brake on this bike.

willhub, your rig looks in good condition. :)

Things I would change: reflectors...arrrrgh!!!
Saddle: looks like it came off an OAP touring bike! :o
Cut off the boots, they do **** all anyway!

Thanks for the comment :D

What do you mean when you say boots? Rubber things on the suspension?

yeah, Boot's are the proper name for them. They can cause more trouble than they are worth. i.e. you don't notice dirt build up and it corrodes your seals or rust your stanchions.

Ah I see, I'll take them off before I go on another ride. Is it possible for me to tighten the suspension on it as its far too soft.

I'm not aware of the fork model but at a guess you could put in a different weight of oil or a stiffer elastomer /spring.

They dont have oil.....they are elastomers....rubber bits inside hence why they are soft when its warm and stiff as hell when its really cold. :o

I always though they were springs inside, last suspension on my old bike was and it had a hell of allot of grease on aswell.
