The camera was mounted to the handle bar so any steering movement gets exaggerated on the camera.

what was it that actually sent you flying? cos the little bump/ditch looks tiny in a video
Maybe it looks small in the video but when you're approaching it at 15mph with the bike leaning over and trees either side it's not so small ;)
I think the angle and speed caused the front wheel to dig in and send me over the bars.

This is the same location the previous lap.

I was riding the chase today and was looking for what caused you to crash. There is definitely a big dip on the bank of that corner. You can't really see it in the video but its about the size of a wheel.

yeah camera on bars would probly account for what looked like drunkeness :p
and i know what u mean about looking small, bumps, rocks, roots and steepness never looks the same size in helmet cam vids :(

Got out on the bike today for the first time in a while.. Built some cool new tracks up in the forrest behind me house! :D Feels wierd riding again.. leg is giving me some bad greif

My halfords xc2.6 is a pain to ride now!, after my chain guard broke off, 2nd day of riding, and gears are totally out of alignment. Johnny, do you think halfords can do anything for me?, ie, new chain guard or something?

Can try your luck but every bike has a different chainguard that isnt really removable. Depending on who serves you at the time then somebody could give your gears a wee look over.

I did warn you before you bought it :p

Its usually a case of adjuster the barrel adjuster at the shifter or mech to take up the cable slack if your gears arent alligned right,or the cable is ****** as i found out today trying to get gears to stop double shifting.

hi, i really did think it was going to last a bit longer, like a few other ones ive had from halfords!, im pretty sure this chain guard is screwed on, would they have replacements?

The older halfords bikes, probably <2005 are cheap but they last. We still get a few apollo excel bikes in and they are solid, still going strong.

Things have got progressively worse over the last few years but the new range that we are due to get in two weeks look to be better than this years.

Is yours the red and silver or blue and white xc26? The guard can clip off if your careful,we dont stock a replacement but i wouldnt hesitate about taking it off a display bike or a ****** bike lying through the back.

Considering adding a 4th bike to my stable, currently have a road bike, hard tail 29er, full sus 29er and now I've been offered a 2006 Norco Team DH for £1000. That's about a 3rd of what it should cost...

Wow, 3 bikes already and thinking of adding another one to the collection. You must like bikes :p

Wish I had the cash to buy a road bike. I would be on it all the time. I would be riding for miles upon miles when the weather is good.

I guess I just got to keep with the Dawes Oxide Ive got :o

Stunning bike for a grand...the one i had a shot of at glentress felt really rear end heavy. It wasnt exactly a lightweight build so that may be why.

For a grand i wouldnt refuse.

Here is a picture what my face looked like a couple of days after when it decided to meet some railings at quite high speed...

ouch
My face currently looks like I've taken a sander to it, my right leg has a bruise the size of an apple above my knee and my left arm is very badly scratched :( My upper lip was badly cut and causing me pain yesterday but today it's completely healed.

It'll be fun having a shave tomorrow :(

Buy it, sell it on for a profit if you decide its completely superfluous to needs.

does anyone here have dmr V8s because I really want some white ones but I dunno if the paint will just come off after 5 mins riding
Ive read that the paint on them is a bit crap and does have a habit of wearing off

Your cheek looks yellow. Bruised?

Nasty, hope you get better soon.

I'm enjoy the time off from the MTB and using the roadie. I haven't had any crashes yet and so for once, my legs and elbows aren't bruised and cut up and neither am I constantly pulling thorns or bits of bark out of my skin.

Edit: Just curious, does or has any one rode Woodbury Common in Devon?

ah right damn I may aswell just get black ones then?

That makes no sense as the black is still gonna wear off???

They do wear pretty badly, the V8s on the kona looked silver when it went home. Part of the reason i went for the dxs as they are just plain silver.
