Forks are a pair of 06 Teams now though.. The forks in the above picture are now on rG-Tom's bike :) Loads of stuff to swap out before France though i doubt i'l get round to it.

 GEARBOX!!!

Insane ride there :D

nope it's not a gearbox! It's a pass through the frame jobby, some snazzy stuff that makes it so that there is no chain bob on compression.

Awesome AWESOME bike, shame theorange build pictured by ady there is worth probably double mine!

Nice to see you posting Ady :D

Hi,

I need to replace my bottom bracket - is this an easy thing to do and what tools will I need?
I currently have a Shimano ES-25 Octalink Spline fitted.

Thanks

Went out yesterday properly for the first time in AGES with a bike that was actually half decent for once. My god i had fun:) No pictures yet since i'm still getting a new camera through insurance, but i'll see what i can get of the pentlands while its still wet and muddy when i get a new one :)

Definately bitten again!

Well I finally have my new bike :D A santa cruz bullit bought for the tune of £1400 - BARGAIN!

Anyway pictures!

Only been out on it once so far, I'm looking to get a new set of pedals (reccomendations anyone?) as the bearings are going in these and other than that give it a damn good clean.

And just as I was being happy with my new pride and joy, I got a LOT happier:

I'll have to get used to the new shimano xt shifters. Not used them before :p

I'm VERY happy with it and although the handle bars a little wide compared to what I'm used to, I'm sure after going out for a long ride I'll get used to it.

As Tom says, not a gearbox, it's called a jackshaft :)

Crank chainwheel is on the left hand side, runs up to a top left hand cog, through the frame on an axel, to the right-hand side chainwheel, and then back to the cassette.

Basically means through 9" of travel there is absolutely zero chaingrowth. Which is nice if you like your suspension to carry on working when you pedal! :D

Hi Ladies.

I should be coming into a bit of cash very soon and I'm torn between 2 bikes... please help me choose. (i might go for their 2007 counterparts depends on feedback). There are around £700 difference between them in favour of the Kona - worth it?

I have decided to get a freeride bike in stead of just a plain DH bike, and here are my finalists, please criteque away

Why not a Coiler? Taking big hits on a regular air shock means early death (of the shock :p) and coils feel better.

I'm not sure why I'm asking that as Konas smell of egg. There's not really a great deal of choice in that price range, but the Giant is a solid bike that'll do almost anything you want it to.

Sorry, dont quite get the "Kona smell of egg"bit. You dont like Kona?
If so, why not?
(I'm not attacking your point of view, quite the contrary... I want more informed opinions than my own)
The Coilair and the Coiler are pretty much the same frame, but don't the fork on the Coilair seem more appealing (i never rode one of those before)
The Reign X1 does seem like a good value bike indeed, but you mentioned "that"price range. What did you mean by that... would you spend a tad more and get something much better?
If so, what would that be?

just managed to cram high rollers onto my rims, and the tread looks backwards to what I would imagine ( I followed the rotation --> arrows) so I looked online and maxxis have it the shown the same way as I have it but without a rim on but bike radar has it the other way, help please?
