What winter gloves do you guys use? im looking for maybe a thin waterproof liner glove to go underneath my usual ones as i have some waterproof gloves but there quite bulky! Had freezing hands after todays ride so got me thinking ! haha

Think I might start a DBair fund. Does anyone know whether they come with mountings? TFT site suggests so but CRC (fair bit cheaper to be fair) doesn't seem to mention them.

Chaps - considering upgrading the rear shock on my Boardman Team FS. The back end doesn't feel as plush as I'd hoped, never really feels active.

I've messed about with the settings on the RS Monarch R shock (gate & rebound) and they don't really seem to have much of an effect on the feel - gate at full or open is much the same (a bit wooden). I've also tried different air pressures to no avail.

So - would an upgrade to the shock help improve the feel? I've heard good things about the RS Monarch DebonAir with the fast-black coating, they say small bump reaction is improved and it's up to 30% more active under the same load. Also looked at Fox Float Kashima and even Cane Creek although I don't really want to spend loads and don't really need the 58 levels of adjustment the CC offers. I'd rather just set it up and leave it, with the option to lock/unlock on the trail - hence the new Monarch appeals.

Dont bother with a RS Monarch, im literally trying to get my LBS to order a cane creek and bill Trek as Rockshox warranty is a joke

Hes not exaggerating, mine died on my first proper wet ride.

I got my replacement bearings from BETD. Do they not sell them anymore?

Yes. Waiting for delivery. The top bearing can be replaced with an Enduro one. They don't do a SS version of the 1.5" bearing though. I asked. :(

Mines seems fine so far, and I've been on some very muddy and wet rides recently.

My mate bought a Canyon and had his reverb stealth and RS monarch die within months both were sorted out very quickly direct with rockshox only delay was canyon had to provide new custom color coded stickers lol

What the hell is an enduro bearing for goodness sake?

If the headset bearings are going to pot after one wet ride I'd consider the seals top and/or bottom are useless or poorly designed and no "special" bearing will help.

Enduro is just a brand name.

The problem with the bearings that came in my Angleset is that the bearing cage was steel, not stainless steel so they rusted which obviously made them feel horrible. Swapped them out for some Enduro bearings from BETD and they'be been fine since.

That bad? Is it one of the new DebonAir shocks?

Yes new DebonAir shock, ive heard a few stories about people having the same issue I had with mine. The warranty has honestly put me off the shock. If it happens again im handing the bike back as I cant wait another month for my bike to be returned again.

so they dont help you knock 2/10ths off your strava times? i am disapoint.

even so, if theyre lasting 1 ride then thats some serious contaminant ingress.

One could possibly put it down to poor installation as the Angleset isn't straight forward. I doubt it as I have installed / maintained; Hope / Chris King / Across / Canecreek headsets. The quality of the Canecreek sealing is shocking. The bearings they put in a £200 headset is scandalous.

The Enduro bearings I installed in the Angleset are still going strong. But the Angleset still needs regular maintenance. By comparison, the Chris King headset I have is older, been stripped once. And still like brand new.

I prefer to spend the cash up front on quality products that last, rather than spend money and time on maintenance.
