One could possibly put it down to poor installation as the Angleset isn't straight forward. I doubt it as I have installed / maintained; Hope / Chris King / Across / Canecreek headsets. The quality of the Canecreek sealing is shocking. The bearings they put in a £200 headset is scandalous.
The Enduro bearings I installed in the Angleset are still going strong. But the Angleset still needs regular maintenance. By comparison, the Chris King headset I have is older, been stripped once. And still like brand new.
I prefer to spend the cash up front on quality products that last, rather than spend money and time on maintenance.
Yeah its rubbish. Only got an Angleset because it came with my frame. Had I bought it id be a miffed to say the least. Though since I got rid of the cane creek bearing I haven't had an issue.
ive seen old threaded headsets out last that
When I had a follow up for my shoulder, I had my knee also scanned, and it turns out that it's also in a pretty bad state.

) and lots of people turning up on full sussers, so maybe I managed to miss the good stuff? No wonder, your poor knees are carrying around a lot of extra weight there
I had a wee spin around Glenlivet today. It flows quite nicely and I enjoyed myself but it seems a bit tame to be marked as a red trail? I had my hardtail 29er but I think I would have got round it easily on my cyclocrosser.
Very busy trail centre (i'm used to seeing 1 or 2 other people around here) and lots of people turning up on full sussers, so maybe I managed to miss the good stuff?
Some ratings are pretty weird, is it a red because of the distance?

Could be. There is a fair bit of climbing to the top as well.
I dont think it should be red graded. There are a couple of small drops (with a warning sign placed in front of each one) but they can be ridden as slow as you want with no danger of catching the chainring.
It's very unnatural. The surface is hardpacked gravel for the entire route and, with the exception of the rock drops, is perfectly smooth. It'll ride the same in any weather though.
I'm not making it sound great, but it is quite good fun. It flows well and you can get a good speed up on the smooth surface. I also didnt have to clean my bike because there isnt any mud![]()
What winter gloves do you guys use? im looking for maybe a thin waterproof liner glove to go underneath my usual ones as i have some waterproof gloves but there quite bulky! Had freezing hands after todays ride so got me thinking ! haha

Looking at picking up a new hardtail to replace a very small 17" 2003/4 Hardrock Pro. Got around a grand to spend.
Currently looking at the Whyte 901. Anything else about that I should take a look at? Vitus Sentier, etc...
Perhaps I'm biased, but have a look at the Bird Zero.3. The Bird won a group test in last month's Mountain Biking UK magazine. Frame review here.
I don't suppose that anyone has a spare £5 voucher for Chain Reaction that's going to waste?![]()
