Does anyone have any tips for getting off a super tight tyre?

It's been sat next to a radiator and I've even used a hair dryer to soften it but it's not coming off. Been trying for an hour with no joy.

Tyre is a Schwalbe Rock Razor, need to fix a puncture for a ride tomorrow:mad:

Work the tyre from one side with your hands moving it to the centre of the rim. Then use good quality tyre leavers to take the tyre off from the opposite side.

You can also use some clamps/pegs etc to keep the tyre in the centre of the rim, you need as much slack as possible at the point you stick your (strong) tyre levers in.

Tried everything, even nearly boiling water and finally got it off.

Can't get the tyre back on though. I've even tried different tyres and broke 3 re-Inforced levers in the process. It's like the wheel has expanded by 5mm.

There is no slack at any point of the tyre when it's in the centre of the rim.

thinking of going single narrow wide chainring on my canyon spectral.. I just dont ened the 2 at the front. Anyone done this and know if its a simple job? im assuming it is! watched some videos it shows removing the bottom bracket to get the front mech off but i think with my mech i dont ened to do that so should be simple!!

providing your front mech is clamped to your frame there shouldnt be any need to remove the BB.

also you may need to buy some shorter chainring bolts.

otherwise should just be a straight swap.

The only time you would ever need to remove the BB is if you have a BB-mounted FD.
Some frame designs mean that the seattube isnt capable of holding a derailleur so they mount to the BB. Most bikes will have a normal clamp on FD around the seat tube.

only other thing i've found useful with tight tyres is to rub fairy liquid generously over rim edge and tyre edge then trying again to get it on

//just realised how dodgy that sounds, but it worked for me ;)

Can anyone reccomend a decent track pump?

Also is it normal to have 'liquid' coming out the nipples on a tubeless wheel when pumping it up? I seem to lose pressure quite a lot, been happening since I got it really but getting worse recently.

Can't go wrong with a Joe Blow track pump. No, should never be liquid coming out of nipples. Re-do your tubeless set up.

Nice, on offer currently too.

Brilliant! Wheels came setup as tubeless, no idea how to do it. Looks like this could be fun. Would this be something that could go wrong over time or something wrong with the setup?

Sounds like the tubeless rim strip isn't sitting right. Take it off, including the normal rim tape if it is there. Clean it up and reseat. If the rim tape is fubar and you have none spare, use about 4 passes of electrical tape. Clean the rim and tyre. Add a scoop of sealant, seat tyre and pump like mad to about 40 psi, swish sealant around tyre to seal. Deflate and repeat as required.

Is an air compressor required?

Would be tempted to complain to manufacturer, but need to learn how to do it. Also read if leaking from the nipples it could be an issue with the rim and it may need replaced..

First proper ride on my Solo, love it, very very similar to my Blur TRc but with slightly more stability and a stiffer front end.
