So I'm travelling back to Cornwall next Sunday (probably) and thinking about going via BPW on the Monday.

Does anyone know any decent accomodation that is bike friendly? I'm sure I read the travelodge there allows bikes in. Not sure how much I fancy leaving the bike in my car overnight.

Bike park wales booked for 8th March woot woot!

Also looking at booking a log cabin at forest of dean friday to monday only £450 and would sleep another family so £225 for 3 nights in a log cabin if i can get a mate to join.

I'll be booking for june too when them dates are open and again in september to get my fix. I'll post my dates so hopefully somone on here can go that day to to show me the ropes!

I took my bike out the shed for the 1st time since the start of november! I needed to fit a new bottom bracket since mine died at forest of sloppy dean. When i first grabbed my bike it was like it had a steering lock, the bars wouldnt turn, the bearings were seized in place :(. Also my reverb went up in about 20 juddering stages to finally reach the top and once it was fully open could I heck get it to go back down! The winter in the shed has been cruel on my baby :(.

Took the lower headset bearings out and they were crazy rough. Degreased them, then gt85 then grease but no improvement :-(. Looks like ordering a new bearing but there a strange looking bearing so probably have to order crappy nukeproof ones again. Was hoping to be able to order a better quality bearing off ebay.

Which bike/headset is it you have? You should be able to source enduro ones or even just a better brand.

something like that would fit a lot of headsets but there are two slightly different angles for the inner and outer surfaces. 45 x 45 or 36 x 45, most 1.5" lowers I've seen are 45 x45 or 'campy' standard.

Tenth picture showing the different angles.

The change to single chain ring went well. really chuffed with it! 34t and 11-36. Flying up hills faster as its forcing me to grind harder gears ! The steep hills here in north wales are getting destroyed! haha.

When you get the new ones, remove the seal and fill with grease as well. Most bearings come filled to 1/3 to 1/2, but for low speed use such as on a MTB you can safely fill to 100%
Use a marine grease as well its perfect for very slow moving parts such as headset bearings and will last much longer.

Very impressed by the Park Tool PCS-9 stand even if it is their "budget end" model.

Solid build, folds up easily etc. Not had the bike in it yet but I reckon it'll be very sturdy.

I started doing that a while back to get more life out of bb's. I use juice lubes bearing grease as its great for low temprature and is very resistant to wash out apparently. I stripped my brand new gxp bb before fitting and i was glad i did it was pretty poorly greased and the grease looked like clear clay, far too thick and clumpy.

Ordered a new headset bearing from aire bearings from a recommendation off a nukeproof forum so have to see how it goes.

The missus is going mental with all the maintanence on this bloody nukeproof. All the frame bearings have needed stripping and greasing, new bushs on the chainstay pivots, new bb and now headset bearing. Wouldnt mind but the nuke has only been riden around 20 times. My canyon am is on the same bb, headset, pivot bearings with next to no maintanence after 100+ rides in much worse conditions. Maybe my riding has improved so much since i got the nuke that it cant handle the pace!
