Cheers!!! :D

I was sold on it the first time I saw it in the flesh. Even though there were plenty other bikes in the same price range that would have given me a better level of groupset etc, I just had to have the FP1.

It's a 2008 model, the 2009 model is out soon, with a few tiny tweaks here and there and slightly different colours. To that end, I managed to get it at £175 off the RRP which was £975 - So it cost me £800.

It's a lightweight alu frame with carbon front forks and rear seat stays, even though its not full carbon, its very light. I believe its about 1400g.

Just finished this last night

but as i've never ridden drops, clipless, or single speed (will move to fixed once i get the hang of things), and am little more than a n00b when it comes to cycling in general, it may take some getting used to.

Looks nice! Ideal for winter time as no gear changers etc to get sludged up with grime etc. :)

Giant Trance X (custom), just finished building it.

Giant Trance X frame with Fox Float RP23 5" travel
Shimano XT front mech
Shimano XT rear mech
Shimano XT Cassette
Shimano XT Hollowtech 2 crankset
Shimano XT pedals
Shimano XT calipers and levers
Hayes V7 (180mm) rotors front and back
ODI limited edition lock on grips
Race Face Deus XC riser bar
SDG Formula FX seat with micro seatpost
Spinergy Xyclone Disc Wheelset
Kenda Small block 8 tyres (useless in this weather), Have a nobly nic for the front in really bad weather but even that get pretty slick in 2-3 inch mud
Rockshox Revelation Dual Air 130mm travel

Climbes unbelievably well, and is competant on the technical stuff, though gets very useless in 5" boggy mud though I suspect the tyres dont help much

Rode the Trek Session 88 today and O - M - G !!!
WHAT A BIKE

Dont know exactly it is about it, but it's just perfect, f'ing bombs it through the corners, braking in a corner (which is a big no-no) the tires keep traction. Going flat-out in sketchy straights is also a dream. It doesn skit over the rocks not does it pile through, dont really know how to describe it, but it has a perfect combination of the two.

It's light and flickable and it seems like it wouldn't be a slouch in some nice singletrack either.

Deffo getting this now! :D
Had the Morewood on order - cancelled, had the commencal on order - cancelled.... now it's this :P

The new trek Session 88, there has not yet been an 88 before, so nopes it's a 09.
It was the DH version and really light for a Dh bike. I wouldnt not use it for Trails only though... it's just not meant to do that - it's a race DH bike through and through

Couldn't be bothered to go to Interbike this week, but I'll be riding out in Colorado and Utah later this week with the Turner demo bikes, comparing them to my current Turners.

Blasphemy!
Wish I could be there, would have loved trying a few bikes out.

Had another run with the Session 88 this weekend, god I love that bike.
