I think I'd rather have my remedy, its been a bit abused still at least I've got a bike for dalby this Sunday. my hard tail is in bits fitting SLX gears to it, new chain rings cassette, chain, I really wanted sram x9 but it's nearly twice the price and I couldn't really justify it for a spare bike

The remedy when it comes back will have MRP XCG Triple Chain Guard and I'll get a new saddle looking at Fizik Gobi XM been an expensive month.

any recommendation on saddles, however I do appreciate saddles are much more a personal thing.

You will love the fuel ex at dalby really suits it! I demo'd one there and it was awesome and comfy all day. Considering heading up there this Sunday pending on the weather!

Charge spoon cromo, or Knife if you want lighter... I think people discount the Spoon because it's so cheap, it's still ACE though, it'd be a good saddle at twice the price. But you do have to be the right shape, it's one of those saddles that's super comfy if it fits but it doesn't have much padding etc so if it doesn't, it's not so good.

The Knife is similiar, but even less padded, lighter, ti rails, bit flexier, and less shaped. It looks a bit nastier but it still works. £35 or so from Wiggle, silly price.

My Rockhopper Comp Disc 2009.

Mods
Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1's
Spesh lock on grips
X-Lite stubbies
USE Shockpost

You join Andi in the Rockhopper club!

I shall be making it 3 when I get mine. Soonish hopefully, if I get the 'rents off my back about getting a car :p

I keep telling them, a Rockhopper Pro '09 (commuter / general use) and a SX Trail I '09 (weekend toy) is much better than getting something with an engine and 4 wheels :p :D

Why is it, that not matter which direction you ride, on days like these, you always seem to have a headwind? :D

Looks much better with the darker grips I think. Needs red seat clamp and skewers now :D

i just got a rockhopper specialized 2008 v break bike for 390:) last one in evans, great deal. considering the spec for it.

specialized frames are so light it quite amazing how light they can make these bikes nowadays.

the tora 302 SL coil is great fork lovely ride, still trying to fiegue out which gears to use though havnt worked out which gear best for normal hills trying middle gear and 4th back gear and seems good.
if i was going to upgrade the gears on my rockhopper what you recon best to go for? XT? SLX? or mix?

Nice bike Andi. I'm hoping to get a rockhopper disc when I finish Uni, can't wait to move back to the country and get biking again.

Have you upgraded many components on the bike? Would you recommend upgrading any in particular?

Mines got Panaracer Fire XC Pro tyres, Lizard Skin Peaty grips, Charge Spoon seat, and Wellgo MG1 pedals.

Only thing I'd really recommend changing is the tyres, the standard ones really struggled for grip in anything vaguely muddy. The other stuff is just personal preferance really, and I'm a tart and they look nice :D

I'd like to do something with the brakes too, I'm not 100% happy with them, think I'll try getting a bleed kit and bleeding them, and maybe a bigger front rotor. Nothing much wrong with them, they're just a bit spongy and lack a bit of feel.

Oh and maybe new cranks, but thats back to the tart thing, I've rubbed the paint off these ones :D

What seat post is that? How about red brakes levers if you can get them?

Just the standard Specialized seat post :)

My fingers were etchy :(, heres my '08 S-Works, built it this weekend, WOW is all I can say for the difference between my only 08/09 Giant Trance X, the feel is night and day, the Enduro feels bottomless and plush, kinda hard to discribe ...it just floats.

Ya, I know, its just damn ridiculous. Hopefully its not hailing tomorrow and I can got to Aston Hill, or possibly try Swinley for the first time.

I collected my bike from the Spesh concept store today after a fork service and took it for a blast down the Cannock DH runs. It hailed hard for about 20minutes but didn't spoil the fun.

You'll love the bike - it's amaing how hard you can push it. It really is a 'do all' bike. Well under 30lbs for climbing and strong for fast DH riding.

Was that the 150hr service or just a standard 50hr service, I am considering doing it myself as I have done Rockshock, Fox and Magura so hopefully it should be within my ability, but boy do some of the horror stories scare ya with regards to the E-150.
