Just about to pick this up from a friend of mines for a dirt cheap price...let's say way less than 50% of RRP and he has only ridden it for 100 miles (with full paperwork etc!)

It's a Bianchi 928 C2C Veloce 2009 model...dead sexy!

Other than not liking the ride position what did you think?

Was it nice and light?

Hi there, yeah it was a nice light bike, the demo model looked a bit shabby though tbh, but then thats the demo, probably won't reflect a new bike.
I wasn't too keen on the deore shifter at the front and the xt on the rear, again personal preference when it comes to shimano or sram.

It was quite a long bike as well, so not as nimble as I'd have thought, but again the only reason I didn't go for this is because I was blown away by the Scott :) but then again it was more expensive, if I'd have tried the comprable Scott and Rockhopper, assuming the ride position was different on the Scott I would have gone for the Rockhopper :)

There is another known problem where the pads rub on the vanes of the rotor and cause a gurgling sound, the new revision pads help this or you can remove some material on pad so they do not overlap the vanes - as I have done.

Thats exactly what mine do. Very wierd noise.

I'll have a look today!

Edit: the adapter definitely seems to be a bit off. Having taken it off, I think it might be that there's a little bit of paint around the edge of the surface that the spacer washers sit on (which is mostly just base metal), which could be causing them to be a little bit wonky. Is this something I can fix myself?

Thanks, I've emailed them about it so hopefully they'll send me some new pads and grease :)

And yeah you're right, the pads do overlap with the rotor arms a bit.

You could get the mounts faced if they aren't already. This leaves them perpendicular to the axle so should all lign up perfect.

:( Its not fair to post pictures of things that i cant have.

Lovely bike tho. I'v got a via nirone which also has the C2C geometry and i love it :D (wouldnt mind a carbon version tho :D )

Looking for some advice for a 6ft 2", 14st 7lbs cyclist. I want a new bike and plan to take advantage of the cycle to work scheme which will probably allow me to spend about £600 face value on a bike, this is not set in stone however the best value for money is key.

I want a bike for commuting to work and also for the odd fun ride which might consist of canal towpaths and through woodland. I've been doing some searching about and I've found the below bikes on various website.

I'd appreciate some feedback on each bike and also if I've missed out on any.

Voodoo Bantu £579.99 - Halfords only.
Specialized Rockhopper disc £586.99 -Leisure Lakes and Evans.
Kona Blast Deluxe £549.99 at Evans (Also available at Leisure lakes).
Commencal Combi disk £549.99 from Evans.
Lapierre Tecnic 400 £539.99 at Evans.
GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc £539.99 at Evans (Also available at Leisure lakes).

Potential bank breakers...
Orange G2 £650 from Leisure Lakes.
Orange G3 £699.99 from Leisure Lakes.

Are 2009 spec bikes likely to drop in price anymore before now and at the end of the year and what size frames should I be looking at?

How far is your commute?

As for frame size, geometries are different and there isn't actually a single standard way of measuring, so you are much btter off sitting on them to see if they feel right.

My commute is no more than 2 miles each way. However there is a really nice park that is nearby and can be on the route home, making it anything from a 3+ mile commute.

I want some Carbon in my life. Just a Hardtail,

Which is best the Scott Scale 30 or Commencal Skin 2 ?

I can't decide, place your votes!

Also I noticed the 2010 Scott has changed from Fox to Reba. Sounds like a downgrade for the forks?
