First day back on the big bike yesterday and had a wicked time in the Forest of Dean.
Felt weird being on the DH bike again but soon got back into the swing of it

What's the riding like there? Is there a trail centre or is it a map job?

I'm getting my Mrs into biking so need something fairly tame while she finds her feet/pedals.

Pretty straight forward, XC route is marked and you cant miss any of the DH runs. Not my fav place but good fun either way. Racign there next Sunday. Supercow do you live far from there then?

Is it just a footpath in the forest then, or an actual MTB trail? How long is the route?

its an actual trail and it isnt very long or good..

I'll be with the Mrs so as long as it's tame, it should be fine.

The proper XC route is 4.5km and the family cycle trail is 11miles.. so The proper XC route you'd bang out in an hour at a slowish pace and the cycle trail i assume is flat gravel path.. So dunno on that one!

I've set myself another challenge for this year, ignoring the race results I want to get. I want to ride a century every month, either MTB or road. I wish I'd done January's on the 16th though as it's not going to be anywhere near as nice this coming weekend.

Manchester Met and on a singlespeeded on one 456 lol, may have a chameleon frame instead by then though. Not sure. You?

Took a day off work to go to Cannock Chase and run Follow the Dog. It was my first time there and conditions where a little on the muddy side. Epic fun apart from the new long Section 8 climb as it was too muddy and I had to do a lot of walking. The descents where a hoot though.

Anyway here's some pics:

Actually it seems everywhere I took pictures the mud wasn't that bad! Guess I wasn't thinking of stopping fro snaps when I was plugging through half a foot of mud!

Singlespeed! NICE. I've got a single speed rigid but I don't think I'll be taking it

I did shocking in the downhill! I had been riding clips the last year and forgot how to ride flats!

Awesome! Really good picture too.

Yeah it was my first race. The track was hard. The uplift was fun....but awful when you had to ride up it in the XC race!!

Got a smaller one coming as an experiment as well

I see no reason to change really though as I doubt I'll break it and it rides nice.

Chameleon may be on the way though!
