GT bought Iron Horse I think.

I think CRC have managed to hold of some stock from somewhere else though and are offering the warranty themselves.

Wow, that is a nice looking bike!

On a side note, Carbisdale Red yesterday was amazing! Frosty, slippery but intense! Great stuff :)
I never had my camera but I'll be sure to take it next time. The scenery was amazing.
My new Tora 318 Solo Air forks were a HUGE improvement over the Dart 3's that came with the bike

Next on the cards is an upgrade to the brakes (the only other area for improvement I think)

Currently have the Giant Root braking system. Any suggestions for a decent worthwhile upgrade?

hayes el camino are on offer for 40quid each on CRC. not the best but certainly not the worst. a steal at that price

otherwise in that price range id recommend the shimano deores. incredible stopping power for such a small and cheap brake

Well my frame swap has been delayed as the LBS couldn't find the time this weekend, so I might buy some new headset, handlebar and stem as I'm running the pretty much bog standard FSA jobbies at the moment.

I'm looking at some bargains if they can be found, the like of Merlin, Wiggle etc seem to have a load of stuff at 50% off these days, I'm not overly fussed if it's a 09 model with the '10 arriving soon and I'm not OCD about the weight either.

I've seen the Cane Creek S8 headset for £35, and the FSA Orbit Xtreme Pro Headset for £39.99, both around 50% off RRP for headsets.

I've not started looking at the rest yet, but since there's a load of MTB here with pretty good knowledge I though some guidance could be had!

There's going on a Malt 4 swapping onto a Cove Handjob, the Deore stuff will have to stay as the Mrs would find a ditch for me otherwise.

Not the best but far better than the Hayes Sole (*shudders*) on my GT. I suppose I might treat the old lady to an upgrade...

I was surprised when I got home today and found the credit agreement from Cycle Scheme. One step closer to my KHS!

Just ordered some KMC links and a spare chain. Anyone had any experience with the KMCs?

Daft Q as well but I'm planning on removing the master link and fitting the KMC, obv the master has a different pin than the rest so will I have any issues removing it with a chain splitting tool?

Never split a chain before so wanted to practise :)

You won't have any issues. KMC chains are pretty similar to SRAM chains.

Have a look for Quad brakes. Good VFM

Ah sorry weescott should have said i'm putting the KMC chain link onto my spare shimano chain :) was just wondering if I should remove a link anywhere or whether it'll be better removing the master link :)

Nice one cheers :) has cleared things up a lot :) Will give it a go and post back with pics (assuming I haven't mullered the chain) on Monday.

Andi, that looks like a Thomson Elite X4, what length and rise?

I've got an Elite at the mo - 90mm 5 degree rise but I want to move to 31.8mm bars and the X4 only comes in 0 or 10 degree rise.
