Got tonnes of questions, but the main one so far is what do you guys do after you've been out on a run? So far everytime I've come back I've just hosed the mud off with some water, and ran over it quickly with a sponge.

I tend to just lube the chain if it needs it and the bike isn't too dirty before putting her away.

If it's real muddy I'll wash her at the trail centres bike wash then lube up when I get home. If I'm not at a trail centre I wash her down by hand and then re-lube as appropriate.

I ordered some KMC chain links and a spare chain if anyone's interested to see how well they work? I'll try fitting them today. Means you can just unclip the chain if it needs cleaning/repairing.

I have to do it this way as I livew in an apartment with no outside area so I can't clean the bike normally, i.e. no hose etc. so I have to do it all with a damp cloth so I thought cleaning the chain would be easier this way :D I'll just bung it in a bottle with some degreaser, dry off, attach and re-lube.

My rockhopper has a kmc chain with a quicklink in. Works well, I think I'll change the trance to a kmc when it needs a new chain.

You can get a special pair of pliers for undoing the links, they can be be hard to do by hand once the chains dirty and full of lube.

As long as you keep it pointing down; the thing that gets me most annoyed on my commute isn't London drivers, but other cyclists in Richmond Park coming the other way with what feels like 1m candle power burning your retina. Retards the lot of 'em.

I'm sure it's great that they can see where they are going, but surely they must know they are ruining any semplance of night vision those coming the other way have?

its pointing down i can assure you. there is a guy that frequently cycles past me with a magicshine on full brightness pointing straight into your eyes, you're essentially blind until you're out the beam.

I find I get blinded FAR more by cars than cyclists. In fact I don't think I have ever been blinded by a cyclist. I commute in London.

I got an Ultrafire C8 a few weeks ago, intended on using it for my work as a Firefighter and for that it has been amazingly good. But its so good I tried it on the bike to replace my two Tesco Cree LED AA's. It was incredible. I'm ordering another one. And yes - I make sure it's angled downwards to prevent any dazzling to oncoming traffic.

Guys, I just sold my practically brand new Fizik Arione on the Bike Radar forums. I'm looking for a replacement as I'm now back to the MOst Bengals standard saddle on my FP1. More interested in comfort than weight and looks. Any recommendations from the roadies?. Considering saddles such as the Specialized Avatar or Alias. Think the Toupe or Toupe Gel would still be a bit of a razor blade.

I've a Toupe Ti130 on one bike, ridden for up to 9 hours. Picked up a Phenom SL for my SS but haven't tried it for extended rides yet.

Cool, post back with how you find the Phenom to be, it's on my list as a "possible". Need to get my sit bones measured before touching a Specialized saddle, popping through to Evans tomorrow to do so. How did you find the Phenom was compared to the Toupe as far as comfort goes?.

About to get a Brooks B17 for my road bike. I will let you know how it goes.

Legendary saddle with oodles of comfort but somehow I think it may look slightly out of place perched on a Pinarello. :p

BG Alias did the trick for me. Had me sit bones measured on the Spesh bum measuring device thingy.

If anyone's interested, ichabod crane and I are planning on doing a Cwmcarn meet on the 27th. If anyone here's interested in doing the uplift, let us know!
