Bought the Specialized.
Any comments? :)
The FSR XC is a nice Bike :)

I have the FSR XC Comp and it's a good ride :)
Have you thought about getting SPD pedals ? It really does improve pedal efficiency and therefore speed :)

Yes mate, will be getting a set when they come in at my mates shop in three weeks :)

Depends what pedals you're after but I'd personally recommend Shimano M-647s (or 969/970, depending what you're after).

540's, half the price and only very slightly heavier than the 970s. Not important unless you're racing expert class.

Yeh, if you go for 969/970s, not the same as 647's though. I've never really used 540s, just the 900s, although I gather they're pretty much the same, but was going on experience ;).

Thought I'd better post a pic of mine as I've had it almost a year now:

Still going strong and nothing broken on it which is good, especially compared to my old Orange.

Just bought myself a Specialized Globe Sport hybrid bike after 15 years of not owning a bike.

Was going to get a road bike but the cycle tracks where I live (Milton Keynes) are pretty rubbish. Also not doing any XC so decided on some road friendly tyres and rims !

Am loving it though. :)

How much did it cost if you dont mind me asking?
Never really looked at hybrid bikes tbh...

300 quid.

I'd suggest trying out a few though as they're all different. For me was a choice between this, The Trek 7200 or the Scott Sub 30.

In the end I decided on Specialized because they'd always done great road bikes and also the tyres were a bit more suited to mud/gravel than the others which were more road oriented.

My trusty old mountain bike:

Note the family of Swans! :D

Here's a slightly better shot.

Be it for the over-cast weather or my camera in need of adjustment; the yellow has come out looking a little like sickly custard! In real life, its a vibrant but non-overpowering yellow.

Please excuse the odd angles in the last two.

N.B. if any one lives near me and wants to hook up for some cycling (I also have a road bike), email me at ghoststalkeruk /AT/ hotmail /DOT/ com.

Hope are sponsering me right now as we speak. Erm my 11ft fall and shattering of my ankle was due to my Magura HS33 cracking as i was testing the new Hope Pro II trials hub out, 10% stiffer and stronger as 3% were failing (ture facts here) . I did a drop off 11ft...

22ft up, droped 11ft to a platform, that was about 10ft long, i heled the bike on back wheel then manualed to the edge, did a small hope to correct my self and leaver came all way in, long way down, snap, cruch pop ***** more code for the next erm...4 hours till in plaster

Hope have agrred to keep a deal with me ether with FP or my own company. I also have EBC as thats family too and they have offered me to devlop a pad for trials. I have Wright Pad for Magura HS33 so now im going dual disc (safer and stronger) EBC said hey wana do this and i say hell yeah!

If anyones interested, this is pete wright. Resident trials-forum.co.uk bull****er. The list of things he's come out with is near on endless and he's always the first to have and done everything. Aparantly he had the fastest computer in the uk a while back, and does top secret testing of comonents for every computer manfacturer, as well as advising msn about their servers everytime there's a slight hint of them having failed.

A couple of weeks ago he was "emailed about helping design the rocket ship for top gear" with all his supposed email information being a simple copy and paste from the top gear website. Not to mention the footage for the show had been filmed months before he got his email :p

Aparantly he's a nice guy in real life. And seems normal on msn. He just has an obsessive compulsive bull****ing disorder when he's on a forum.

One used and semi-abused Trance 2. Was a tad muddy up in the Berwyns last Sunday. Some of the "puddles" were well over hub deep  :D
