With all this talk of new frames and parts is wanting me to start a new build now rather than at the end of the year when I planned!

Still undecided to go down the HT or FS route. It would be used commuting which is partly road and canal, river footpaths. What do you think?

As light as possible but can take some big knocks.

Ive got a thing for white frames. Keep with the Cove Stiffee idea?

The mid level one is in white - don't let the "Jump" bike bit fool you - it will do it all.
 
I looked at the Blender before. The part that put me off is, with it being described as a Jump bike. Seemed a small frame.

I could do with finding out if 100mm is the max travel it can have. I was thinking of pairing it with a Fox fork of some sorts.

I rode one with Pikes that went to 140mm - such a sweet bike and not small at all. (I'm 5.9")

Don't worry matey. Another roadie here (well... i ride a fixed gear track bike so i guess not technically a roadie, but i never ride on the track so...), although i only pop onto this thread from time to time as there's too much MTB talk (maybe we need to start a non MTB thread). I've currently trying to decide what road bike to get. Love the look of the Kuota Kebel, but Focus seem to have some great vfm in their range. Then there's always Planet-X.... aaarrgghhh too many choices.
 
Anyone know if chainreaction will pricematch?

They have some downhill pants I want, but Rutland has them for 30 quid less (but is a lot more for postage).
 
Just ordered a 2009 Specialized Rockhopper Pro from my local bike shop on my cycle to work scheme. That is one light bike for the money and the Reba Fork is plush.

Was going to get the expert but it was only another 5 quid a month for the pro. They had 100 quid off the pro which swayed it for me. The only issue is the nad busting saddle and as I havent ridden in 2 years I know the first couple of weeks will hurt. The bike should be collectable in a couple of weeks once the voucher comes through. Glad I got it now as the price hikes on the 2010 bikes is not great.
