It's my first trials bike, gonna get used to the basics first! :)
May aswell get used to it with a good quality front brake ;)
You won't be disappointed with the BB7 - and coupled with the SpeedDial 7 levers (Avid also) they are second to none for a mechanical disc brake. You'll be able to use the SD7 levers for your rear V brake aswell.

What sort of price are they? I've been told that if i were to change any brake, i should swap the back to hydraulic?

it looks like a scooter with pedals - didn't know trials bikes had become so perverted ;)

[old man] in my day we used to use small framed mountain bikes with coke on the rims and be happy with it [/old man]

it must be really easy to throw that kind of thing around though!

Booo....that was an answer i didnt want 6th - but thanks ;)

I really want more than 100mm travel on the front but have spent nearly 1k already
in the last 3 months.

So do i buy a long travel hardtail or would i regret that, or should a buy a budget full sus.

I've only been riding it half an hour and it's so easy to manouver :)

About £40/£50 for a caliper/rotor setup, Tredz. (or slightly cheaper on Auction sites)
Not sure how you'd put a hydraulic brake on the back - there's no disc mounts on the frame from what I can see.
Your V-Brake will be fine for Trials as long as is good quality.

Even the pro's use a rear v-brake ;)

Thanks :) I should have said, a hydraulic rim brake.

I was always told to go with a Hardtail compared to jumping into a full suss. FS bikes are more forgiving over HT's.
Upto you though :p
I'd say buy a better quality Hardtail (Kona, Marin etc) and stick with it until you're ready to go full suspension.
That is a Magura HS 33 hydraulic rim brake.
Never knew that!

Good news/bad news day today.

The good, my plaster cast is off finally, physio starts Wednesday.

The bad, my BMX riding days are pretty much over.

Hasn't really sunk in yet.

What about selling your Bolinas?
I have the Marin Northside Trail hardtail - the black 07 model.
Had it from new and now has much better forks and your usual upgrades. It's taken everything I've thrown at it, more than what I should have and it's held up superbly. Really has been an excellent bike.
If you look on the Marin website - the curent price for this years Northside model is £200+ what the asking price was when I had mine. Although I managed to get some money off the asking price aswell.

Kona, Norco, GT, Trek all do good hardtails :)
Edit: Always the option for picking up a second hand frame and building to what you want :)
Some words and brands i'd never put together there :p
Kona and Marin aren't good quality?

If he is riding bigger and faster stuff then a FS is a reasonable option but you need the budget to do it justice.

Thanks, thats the thing i really dont think i can budget for a big FS then i think why am i chaning my current ride for another HT will i gain anything at all?

Grrr I hate trying to decide on daft things like this.

Currenlty im watching an Iron Horse Azure Sport 08 and a Voodoo Canzo.

Cheers

Yep horrid mass produced ugliness :D (just personal opinion of a bike snob :p) I know Santa Cruz are no better.

If you go for the right sort of bike it will be a huge difference, to get the most I would build one up maybe something like a Cotic BFe.

Thanks IC. Just looking now, i have never looked into building a bike before - i have VERY little exp / knowledge of this. I just know how to chuck it up and down hills :D

I see i can get some of the build for:

£370 - Frame
£120 - Brakes
£25 - HS
£63 - BB

£300 - Fox forks

So i would also need, wheels, drive gears etc.

I need a service like merlin that will build me one :D
