Sram PC971 and up are good. XT chains suck donkey balls. They are the only chains I have ever snapped.

nice bike! i probably wont get back to bmxing properly during the summer.. too many injuries over the last summer.. both knees.. ankle.. head.. face.. back..

funny thing is knees injured with the protection.. and head was just an unlucky go.. took my helmet off for the last ride (3mins no more) and flipped over the bars and metal pedals hit me in the forehead.. so yeah after ~8months my knees still hurt and my back/head is still scared a bit im having seconds thoughts for this summer..

Last time I got the LBS to do a rear gear and chain clean while it was in getting serviced and its about time I did it again but do it myself hence my posts on lube etc....

They are easy and quick to use. Beware of the cheap brands though. They fall apart pretty quickly.

I have that chain cleaner and have used it probably twice in four years.
I find a kitchen towel is just as good for cleaning it. I also replace the chain every 6 months so maintenance is less of an issue.

Bah just get a decent brush and a plastic tub, hot soapy water and degreaser - win.

Quick noob question, if a frame has a chainline of 51mm, is it wise to buy a front derailleur with a similar rating?

My frame has a 51 chainline, bottom pull, low clamp, would this FD be suitable?
