*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

Nice work. I found maintenance quite hard because my default had been to be in deficit for so long. It felt odd to eat a bit more. That soon wore off though as soon as I went on holiday for a fortnight :D

Yeah, I’m going to have to find a balance when I get to around 100 kilos which would be around ~20% body fat.

When I was last touching 100KGs I was starting to fit into medium t shirts and 33/34 inch jeans which would be a nice level I suppose.

A good indicator that numbers aren’t everything - I’m about 86kg and I struggle to fit in a medium! :D

Seems we're all making good progress (nice to be able to include myself in that for once!)

You made me spit out my drink of tea knowing that I've got four pancakes covered in chocolate syrup for breakfast, two sausage rolls and a bar of Milka for dinner and a chicken satay curry with ice cream for tea. :D :D

Well, maybe not all of us then :p

Although to be fair. Your day sounds more delicious than mine!

Can anyone recommend relatively healthy food from a Chinese takeaway? I was thinking of sharing a fried rice (I would prefer boiled but I'm sure my wife would veto that) and chicken with mixed vegetables?

I'm 13st 9lbs today, so somehow putting on weight, despite picking up training again, not going too mental on food. Might just be a different body composition of more muscle, less fat. Trying not to focus just on the numbers too much, but it's also quite difficult to just monitor changes in the mirror, because weight gain creeps up on me like that.

I think that's probably as good as you can hope for. Guess it goes without saying to avoid starters! Ultimately though, just have what you enjoy. It's a one off meal.

Thanks, I'm trying to plan ahead a little as I'm out for a beer later and going out to breakfast on Sunday - it could easily become a calorific weekend!

@Sheff - takeaway is my kryptonite. Portion control is key (skip starters and weigh portions!). Also try some stir fried vegetables like pak choi instead of meat dishes. Or perhaps substitute one dish for a vegetable dish. Much lower calorie.

Main thing is not to beat yourself up about a takeaway. Have it and make sure you enjoy it!

My 5 year old son thought it'd be a good idea if we bought plate-sized yorkshire puddings so that we didn't have to wash up any plates. Yesterday, I ate mine, then about a third of my eldest's, and a bit off my youngest's. Plus about 6 roast potatoes, a packet of fruit pastilles, some candy kittens, couple of beers, latte...................

@tom_nieto Called it! Up to 100.3kg this morning. Although yesterday i ate 2 homemade pizzas as we had a load of stuff leftover from making them Friday night. I reckon i just need a poo and i'll be back under 100kg :p

Keep at it! Homemade pizza is delicious, but dangerous! You’ll probably rebound a bit as you recover from illness, but you can still capitalise by avoiding the “sod it” mentality!

I’ve made some slow progress I think. Still a way to go to regularly get under 90kg.

Yeah, i've generally been pretty good, but there's been some skipped meals and then replaced by big meals (Yesterday for example i had some toast for breakfast and then pizza twice!). I also blame my wife as we went out for lunch Saturday and she ordered me a pint as i was in the pharmacy when they were placing drinks orders!

Managed a short easy bike ride with my niece on Saturday and a short walk Friday without too big a knock on impact, so hoping i can start trying to get some more easy rides in.
