What bike are you thinking of getting?

Honestly don't know. There's not a single perfect bike for all scenarios, ideally i'd have 3 but apparently we have better things to spend money on :p

One thing i do know i want though, more power and torque. So i'm looking at things from Z800, Speed Triple, CB1000 and some KTMs, Triumph Sprint, zx1000sx etc

XR supposed to be nice, but apparently a bit too smooth and easy? i.e. could get boring? THat's what I've heard anyway.

The GT is a good option for touring & fun (it isn't detuned from the R as far as I know). I can tour fine on my Speed Triple, so I'd imagine the GT with its big screen being even better.

Comes to something when you can't even trust a Main dealer to give you the right ******* battery/part.

Went over the Yamaha Main dealer in Leicester to get a new battery yesterday & the last thing I said to the Bloke is "It is the right one isn't it as I don't want to have to come all the way over again if it's wrong"
"S Reg Fazer 600 mate that's the kiddy" he asssured me.
Went out to fit it this afternoon after getting everything done looking forward to a nice afternoon run & they only gave me the wrong ******* battery. + =
I barely said 2 words whilst in the shop swapping it for the right one as I thought if I start talking I'll only end up ranting. Main ******* dealer can't give you the right battery what ******* chance do you have of getting a more random part of them that will be right ?

Came back home fitted the battery & went out for a ride, What else is a Bloke s'posed to do after that load of **** ****.

I don't Drink  Shocking a :p

I'm chilled now, once out on my bike all was forgotten I just had to come & have a rant somewhere. Like I said above though what chance has a fella got of getting a more obscure part off them correctly when they can't even get the right battery. :p

I hate drinking too... I rather spend the money on my bike than in a pub. Nearly 2 quid for a bag of walkers crisps and 5 quid for a pint...

Yeah, that was super retarded. Its not like its a bloody rare part or anything.

SuperDuke 1290, gogogo :D

Superduke 1290 GT. :D the perfect do it all bike. Enough power to rip your face off for Sunday blasts and enough comfort to ride to Spain in a day :)

Has to be BMW s1000RR if budget allows?

More like S1000XR

I like the suggestions and the superduke is an insane bike that I'd love. Problem is though, I may have to commute on whatever this bike is which has 2 issues

1. Commuting on my current bike has meant that when its a nice sunny day, a spin out on the same bike sort of almost ruins the experience.
2. Commuting a on a superduke? I'd want to keep such a machine tucked away for times of lunacy :p

I'll have to see if it's possible to keep my bike for commuting and get a new bike for touring and fun and the odd sunny commute.

That's the best way by far - something worth £1-2k which you don't wash for months on end, goes out in all weathers and gets covered in crap, and something for summer, for the sunny weekends and the euro tours. Even more so if you do high miles.

Exactly what I'm planning. Keeping my CB400 for year round commuting and a Tuono factory for summer/dry use only plus some touring. I would also be doing the odd Friday commute on it if it wasn't for the insurance being £300 more to include commuting.
