That's not a stock exhaust ;)

They wheelie really easily in first and second! You shouldn't do it too long though as it starves the front cylinder of oil.

The first time I've tried the SV on a private road of course :p, the front wheel popped when I gave it some beans. :D

Bazooka haha, when you going to be riding it hopefully IC3? :)

BTW if you are ever working on your bike this site is a big help http://www.motosport.com/

It has most of the technical drawings etc with part numbers. A Haynes manual is also pretty useful and far more in depth with proper wiring diagrams etc.

I'll have to look into getting a Haynes manual at some point.

No bike riding at all for me this week as I'm up in London on a course for work, which means catching the train every day. Just paid £146 for a weeks train ticket! I could have ridden in (central london, near Liverpool street station) but it's 40 miles each way and an hour without traffic, vs 53 minutes on the train (high speed service so plenty of seats, clean and quiet) and 4 tube stops, and I can claim the train fare back through work, so it's actually saving me £18 in fuel.

Speaking of SV650's Mr Santander sorted my PPI out and I should have about £1500 to £2000 to get one with my old 97 scrapper GPZ500s to trade in. Really like the naked ones and would be good to do the 300 miles a week on. Either that or back to a bandit but fancy a v twin.
How are the carb ones for cold starts? They are going cheap.

Twins dont like cold starts...but the choke is your friend! They take a bit longer to warm up an IL4's for the simple reason they arnt together in a line warming up together.

I managed without too much hassle on a carbed SV through winter and I do miss the character they have. £1600 to £2000 will get you an injected one I would have thought....oh! and keep an eye on the oil level! They get through oil, not fast, but they can do if you rinse them (at least the carb'ed do)

I've been riding every weekday for about 3 years now and the single most annoying thing I find is when I switch on my bike to warm up whilst I finish getting my gear on, I'm not really paying attention at this point, and I put my gloves on before putting my helmet on.

AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!11one

It's when I get kitted up and realise I've forgotten my earplugs that really annoys me.

You'll be able to pick up a good condition pointy injected model for that money unless you really prefer the look of the curvy.

I wear a couple of dog tags with my details and ICE contacts on, no need to mess about the details are all readable without scanning and every emergency responder will check for medialert type jewellery.

Drives me mental when I kit up in the wrong order, normally when someones talking to me.

Mod 2 passed (in Redditch)....

0 minors :D

I ripped the L's off straight away and am now going to look for a bigger bike :D

I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and felt sick, so almost cancelled it. But figured I'd lose my money if I cancel or fail, so I dosed up on painkillers and went for it. I'm glad I did now!

Nice. Well done. :)

Who did you go with? RMT? Openroad or goldies?

Congrats! That ride back from the test centre feels good doesn't it?

Got any ideas for your new bike?

If I get enough for my 125 I'm determined to get a husqvarna 701 sm. It'll mean putting a bit on finance, but the dealer I spoke to would do it 0% - so not a huge hit.

The Gladius I did my DAS on didn't feel overwhelming, so figure the 701 should be manageable.

Edit: And the ride did feel good :D.
