Still no pics, to much riding. :p Did over 150 miles today just messing about getting used to it & enjoying myself, the miles & the hours just fly by.

Anyways, What are you Guys with Black engines & bits & Bobs using to "Dress" it up after a clean ? I keep getting caught in these showers at the mo so I'm not to bothered but I noticed after a wash down the horrible streaks you get in the black so what's best to use to make it look nice ?
Also what can I use paint wise to tart it up a bit as well ? Do I have to get some colour specific Yamaha Black engine paint or is there something else out there better ?

Doesn't streak with sdoc100, plus a bit of carnauba wax after makes it easier to clean next time.

Tis awesome stuff. I tend to use it on the engine + harder to reach or really dirty areas as covering your bike with it will get expensive and isn't really necessary

Use waterless wash & shine after you've cleaned it with water and it's dry.

+1,

You can get it dirt cheap at Wilko.

I'll grab some next time I'm in Wilkos so Cheers Guys.
Will be minimal cleaning compared to the Vulcan but the streaks will **** me off for sure. It'll get used much more as well & in all weathers so I just needed something to use after the Rinse down.

Does anyone have any idea, how much it would cost to get SV frame+wheels coated and get fairings and the tank painted?

A rough idea would do :p

I had couple ideas for future mods, but the idea of getting a cheap bike was to save up more cash. Not spend more on mods than the bikes is worth haha :p

The idea was to get a Buell front, belly pan, GSX-R's forks and swingarm. I didn't think about the rear end... That'll cost too much though, so its just me daydreaming. :D

Off to the Raven Bigger Breakfast in the morning, 1st time going to a bike meet. Looks good and the weather looks ok as well, cloudy at times but no rain :D Bike is clean as a mofo and looking waxed up shiny, that sdoc100 really takes the grime off like nothing.

You should seriously save your money towards the next bike, and this is coming from someone who will be buying another SV650 even though I have a Street Triple.

This is what I'm doing. I have done everything to my bike that I wanted to for a 600.
Tail tidy, led indicators along with flush mount led front, Yoshimura exhaust, ASV levers & double bubble screen.

No point messing with the engine to get more power when you can just buy a 1000. Either bike you cant use the power on the road properly unless you want to risk prison/death.

Kreeeee it must suck not being able to mod your bikes there in Switzerland :(

True, although next year I'll have a bigger income so that's a plus too.

What SV will you be buying? Carb version or Fuel Injected?

It must suck for you to have nowhere nice to ride your modified bike :p ;)

Besides, I just save my money and buy a better bike. Aprilia Tuono V4R or a KTM 1290 variant will probably be my next one.

The SV will be a fully faired pointy, like my previous one:

That bazooka exhaust :p , its so heavy... the only thing that annoys me a little about the SV is that you can't wheelie them. :(

That's not a stock exhaust ;)

They wheelie really easily in first and second! You shouldn't do it too long though as it starves the front cylinder of oil.

Bazooka haha, when you going to be riding it hopefully IC3? :)

BTW if you are ever working on your bike this site is a big help http://www.motosport.com/

It has most of the technical drawings etc with part numbers. A Haynes manual is also pretty useful and far more in depth with proper wiring diagrams etc.
