Yeah thats when bikes are most prone to them, I have only had a few bad ones, one at Anglesey Circuit, running silly profile Michelin tyres that didn't like going in a straight line, bit of a wobble coming out of one corner, and second was at brands hatch, I had turned the steering damper to minimum for ease of transport and forgot to turn it back up before the first session........ was not a fun session at all!

The last close slapper I had was on a tl1000s she did have a damper I had just changed my viper end cans to road legal set and give a little squirt just over 150 and she become a little light front end wise I thought "Don't you ******* dare bitch" and eased off and rechecked damper the tl would bite you when you least expected it.

It was my fault a bit and the suspension didn't keep up with me. I know that road well, my speedo isn't working atm as waiting for a part. I misjudged the speed I was doing, as I progress onto more powerful bikes it might happen again. This was my first bad tank slapper, had a few wobbles... but nothing close to what damaged my hand. :p

The TL has a nickname 'widowmaker' it can't get any cooler than that, but at the same time, I heard a stock TL can be deadly/unpredictable.

I had a tank slapper on a 2002 cb500 so they're not limited to big bikes! The violence of the oscillations is quite a shock if you've never experienced it before.
