Everywhere else is 7k, I'm pretty sure dealerships have some type of contract/agreement with the manufacture that prevents them selling stuff cheaper - this is why some throw some accessories into the deal. 6k would be tempting though! :p

Well this is awkward.

I've effectively got the ADV350 paid up, just need to collect it.

Except the goalposts are moving, I am now moving out of London, meaning that a scooter might not be the best choice.

I have no doubt I could simply cancel the order as that scoot will get snapped up in an instant, however this will leave me with £7k in cash to blow on whatever I want at Dobles Motorcycles.

Do I keep the scooter for a bit as I do genuinely really like it and I know she'll be comfy on the sofa seat, or look at something else.

ffs, ******* estate agents

I was going to mention earlier in your other thread that if you’re moving, then maybe look at something a little different than a scooter (especially if you’re getting somewhere where it’ll be safer from thieves).
Will you be commuting on a bike?

Not really sure yet tbh, need to decide where we're moving first. I'd like the option of commuting but I don't want to risk it ruining riding for me, which a soggy 30 mile ride in freezing temperatures definitely will do. I'd rather a nice heated train carriage for that.

Ah I was thinking of this in t'other thread too. I've never ridden anything like that but provided it can get up to whatever big road speed nicely then it won't be as if you're lumped with a 125 (no offense to anyone with 125...cats) trying to get onto the m40.

As you say you've yet to find a place, I'd be tempted to take the scooter for now and enjoy it. Provided the grand or so profit they'll want to extract and any depreciation come part ex time isn't going to upset you properly then it's not too big a deal.

If it is though, then cancel and start trying out big stuff for the country lanes :D.

Oh yes, commuting ruining riding. I spent... maybe 8 or so years solidly commuting on first f800, then a couple of k1300sssssesss. Around the Thames Valley area. When I started going on trips with fellow k1300 bunch I found I was lacking. Mostly in ability to go round corners. Took me a while to get better. Now I don't commute and my riding has improved. Though that's for various reasons. Sorry, waffle. But yes, commuting ruined it a bit. I had amazing bikes but just used them as tools. Now I use my ktm more like a toy. A continent crossing, mountain pass gobbling, frigging clutch-leaking awesome toy :D.

Been thinking about getting something with a bit more pep as a second bike. I'd still like the option to ride all year round. I had idly been thinking about a few year old ZX6R 636 but the older ZX9R has come up on my radar and looks like it might fit the bill. Not an all out sport bike like the ZX6, so maybe a nicer, more comfy place to be? I certainly like the styling of them as it looks like a sport bike. Seems that a 2000 year model can be had for a couple grand. Good idea or nah?
Cheers!
have a look at the Yamaha Thunderace. a very under rated and cheap bike thanks to the R1.

Well I did it. Found a clean ZX9R E1 in the colour scheme I like (I like purple, sue me) so a little trip out to Mildenhall (I'm out near Norwich) in the works van with some ramps and tie-downs, job's a good 'un!! Happy days! Had a load of work done a couple years ago, so should de me just fine.

Looks decent, other than the dressing on the wheels - but if you like those bits; then bloody well enjoy it and hang what anyone says :)

I'm not sold on the wheels, I must say, although I'll give it time before deciding what to do. I might end up getting them done in the same purple as what's on the bike, I did look at a C2 that had that done, but we'll see :)

Took a ride to Swindon yesterday (about an hour of riding from Hook)... served as a stark wake up call as to how woefully ill-prepared i was after a fun summer of riding

Since the move, i seem to have misplaced the liner for my jacket (not ideal) and my gloves are in no way suitable for cold weather.

By the time i made it to Swindon i had to make a pitstop at my parents house to defrost before doing my errands and heading home.

We live and learn.

The want is strong for a ZX-4RR.
IL4 400cc revving to 16K is almost too much to pass up (imagine the sound with a de-cat and a decent can! :D )
My local dealer has stock, so may have a look see at the weekend.

Think Lamb Chops took one out - lovely looking bit of kit

Edit: might have been an unofficial kit, but still looked ace
