Can confirm, I've opted out of their marketing nonsense a few times and they just carried on. Ended up reporting them for spam.
Snap.

I think they valued my striple around £3k last year when the best you could find one for was £5k+ definitely not as generous as WBAC :o

They offered me £1900 for a mint condition 22 plate Aprilia SR GT 125 with all the receipts, tracker and 3k miles on it.

I just laughed at the bloke and politely declined.

Just getting the insurance quotes ready for when my new bike is delivered in about 10 days time.

Seems insurance has gone very cheap for me, being only 33 I’ve paid in excess of £1000 before for certain bikes but my cheapest quote so far with EU cover, helmet and leather cover and breakdown cover is £271 fully comprehensive which I’m very surprised about!

How many NCB's? Change of address?

I'm getting quotes starting at £700... I was really motivated to get something whilst doing the DAS, but seeing how expensive everything is and how s... the weather has been...

Got my renewal through the other day - last year was £360, this year is £540, quick Confused later and I've got the same level of cover with Hastings (used them for years before Bennetts) for £260 :D

No change of address and 7 years NCB.

They say the trick with insurance is to do it 21 days in advance, so if you’re looking for insurance quotes on the 1st, have the policy start on the 22nd and see how much the quote changes, could be nothing but it’s worth seeing if it’s true.

I know all the tricks, tried and tested everything that they recommend online. I even used VPN and proxies to see if that makes a difference.

My job title and type of industry I work in has cut down my price by £200, still completely relevant. One strange thing I found was, that putting a small amount of miles a years e.g. 2-3k doesn't always mean it'll be cheaper, I once upped it to 6k and it took another £100 or £150 off the price. I really don't get how they calculate the premiums, in the end its trial and error.

Was cruising around on my phat gangsta badass 125cc scooter on Sunday when I came across that unmistakeable two stroke smell around Hyde Park. Looked around, couldn't see / hear anything so thought it was a chainsaw/lawnmower/whatever. Then a few dudes on Vespas / Lambrettas come past with rememberance banners on the front which justified the smell. Half a mile or so later I take this photo:

Turns out it was "Wasps of London Scooter Club Ride of Remembrance 2023".

These chaps do this every year, and now I want to buy a Lambretta just to join them next year!

I rode a Lambretta once. Never again.
I think you really have to be into them to enjoy them and their culture.

I've never ridden a Lambretta but one of my mates had an old school manual two stroke Vespa when I was a kid and I absolutely loved that thing. My wife has a modern 4 stroke Vespa and honestly it's such a hoot in London. It pulls rather well for such a dinky thing too, I often surprise others with it (they're probably pootling whilst I'm pinning it but screw it, I'm having it!)

used to have a sx lime green when i was 17-18 .. wish i would have kept it .. scrapped it when my mod gf broke up with me .. prob worth 15-20k now ..lol

Next bike is definately going to be a ZX-4RR, which I'll order for the March registration.
Yes it's pricey for what it is, but looking at ALL the reviews it seems to be an absolute riot, and some.
I've got to agree with Chris* when he says "every mile an hour, you earn, they don't come for free, whereas when you've got 200BHP, you burp and you're doing a ton"
My last few bikes have been a Fireblade, ZX10R C1H, 1290R Superduke, ZX10R KRT and S1000R, and as great as it is having all the powers, it almost takes away the fun of going fast, ie, it's no effort.
I'd like to hanker back to being 17 again with the 125cc 2 strokes where you really have to wring the necks of the bikes to get the power and really work the gears, but without the unreliability.

* this is the review i'd been waiting for over all others..

16000 RPM yo :D

What’s the longest anyone has ridden a bike home after collection?

My mate wants to collect his bike, it’s £245 for delivery or a £35 train ticket and a 5 hour 45 minute ride back!
