Picked up my leathers this morning, just back from trying them out.
Feels very strange considering I've been wearing armoured jeans of some sort for pretty much the whole time I've been riding, getting my foot down at a standstill has just become much more difficult as I fight the spring in the leather :D

Only done around 30 miles in them today but they feel pretty comfortable already so I'm sure they'll just feel like a 2nd skin soon enough.

No where near as handsome as usual in them though, fat power ranger is not a good look!

Next tough choice is do I strip and rebuild my MC or crack a beer and sit in the sun?

I need to buy some tools, so not doing anything on the bike today. Maybe tomorrow if it doesn't rain...

BTW Did anyone on here bought any tools from screwfix? If so, are they any good? E.g. http://www.screwfix.com/p/reversible-torque-wrench/18289

I didn't have any 'decent' tools before I bought my bike but have invested in these http://www.halfords.com/workshop-to...onal-200-piece-socket-and-ratchet-spanner-set

and this http://www.halfords.com/workshop-to...es/halfords-professional-torque-wrench-8-60nm

Now I'm set for almost any task :D

Screwfix are good. That's just a budget torque wrench so don't expect wonders but I've used one similar and it was fine, great for the price.

Just got back from a ride out down to Hastings then along to Rye and back via ashford, it's bloody lovely out there! Perfect riding weather, probably 15 degrees, very little wind, perfect :D

Hordes of bikes out, hastings and rye were packed, my neck's sore from all the nodding :D

Great weather here too. I've been sitting at work staring outside at my bike in the carpark all day, it's quite upsetting. And by the time I finish it will be dark :o

I'm picking up that set tomorrow, I didn't have time today.

It'll only be used to get my crash bungs on, I didn't want to spend 100 quid on a torque wrench that'll be used on rare occasions. :p

BTW The weather today was perfect for riding, no wind, sunny and dry. The only problem, I don't have a license yet... :( 'Only' a month till my Mod1

Edit
It doesn't feel cheap and it probably weights around 3kgs+ :p

I thought the same about the torque wrench but since getting it I've realised almost everything I touch on my bike has a different setting. Brake lines, rear wheel, front and rear sprockets, brake calipers all different. =)

Surely you can just adjust the setting to the required torque and jobs a good un? Admittedly for lower torque bolts you need another smaller wrench but 1 big and 1 small adjustable wrench should cater for the full range of required torques on a bike.

I'm the same as Wazza though, would only use one for the engine really, anything external just gets a blast from the impact driver (best £100 ever spent).

Feeling a bit sore after 200 miles in the saddle yesterday, a great day though and a brilliant ride to Newquay with some mates, great weather if a bit cold on the way back.

I like the peace of mind of torquing to spec on friction locking parts which you...really really do not want falling off. Gear and Wheel parts, braking etc :D

Applies doubly so for Torque To Yield parts which are designed for very specific torques.

Sorry must have been some confusion. What I meant was that since getting myself a torque wrench I've used it on everything the manual specifies with a torque setting.

Tighter isn't always better though.

Just looked at the weather forecast and things aren't as bad as they thought last week so booked a track day at Bedford. I'll have no idea I'm doing but hey :p

Traded the RSV4 in and got an upgrade :p

(not really!)

My partner treated me to some Alpinestars GP Pro gloves for my b'day too :)
