Having a long weekend in Rome. It's my second time in Italty in the last 6 months and I've realised something. They love their scooters but not so much their motorcycles. I've seen 2 Ducati's (The 996 sounded INCREDIBLE. I am definitely thinking of getting a 899 Panigale in a few years) several Hornets, a K4 GSXR and a Triumph Bonneville but that's it. And I've probably seen hundreds of not thousands mopeds/scooters. Very odd.

When I was in Bolonga a few months ago I saw a Brutale but haven't seen one this time :(

We're going to Bologna in August for holiday and to visit Rossi's town, anywhere bike related you would recommend we should visit? So far we're planning:

Bologna (flying into here) and will visit Ducati, is there anything there? factory tour etc?
Tavullia (Rossi)
Coriano - Simocilli birth place
Modena (Ferrari)
Imola
Rimini

Thanks :)

All the bikers (thousands and thousands of them!) are in the mountains. You don't take a motorbike into the crowded cities.

They love biking in Italy, more so than almost any other country I've been to.

Bolonga is ace provided all you want is to eat(seriously, their food is second to none. Haven't had a meal here in Rome even half as good. There is an alley(it'll make sense) where one shop has tens of hanging Parma Ham joints. Opposite that is a little eatery. Best lasagne ever), drink coffee and chill out. Not that much going for it other than its a good hub to get to Venice and Modena. My girlfriend isn't really a fan of bikes but I did get her to go to the Ferrari museum at Modena which was fun.

I was thinking that might be the case but I'm surprised I haven't seen more of them. I guess all the cobbled roads is a deciding factor too. But that being said I've seen all ages on their Vespas up to a lady who looked in her 80s. I think the car drivers are far more courteous to those on scooters than they are back home

Go to the North Italy passes (e.g. Centovalli) on a weekend and you get thousands of very exotic bikes scraping their pegs around the curves.

Haha, yeah it's not all black - but the previous factory paintjobs were mostly white so it was a bit of a change. That paint was the last year of the Factory model before they discontinued it.

Although as I'm a sucker for white bikes I actually think I prefer the earlier white paintjob, even though the black model is rarer.

It's nice looking but that frame colour reminds me of a beige hearing aid:eek::D

Which one - the white one I posted or the black one? Funnily enough, they did change the frame colour from a bronze on the white one to a more gold colour, only a subtle change but noticeable.

It would have looked better if they had done the seat/subframe in bronze aswell, but it looks a bit odd just the main frame
