I walked to work on a t-shirt, its a bit chilly when it gets a bit windy and you're standing in a shade. But in the sun, its nice and warm. :)

Realised my bike isn't actually that loud today... :(

I did a couple of flybys with the tascam recorder, and inbetween my runs a 2015 GSXR1000 also flew by, gunning it and up-shifting through the quickshifter. Made my bike seem very quiet in comparison! :(

I'll post up the vid in a bit.

Also visited my 'local' Aprilia dealer (in Canterbury, 30 miles away) to see about servicing costs on a gen2 tuono - £380 for the big service (valve check) and £160 for the small service. Service intervals are 6k or 12 months for the small service, 12k or 24 months big service. That's pretty reasonable, I can handle £160 one year and £380 the next, I doubt I'll manage 12k miles over 2 years though. Hopefully I'll find a bike with a service history and I don't mind keeping it up.

Baffle/s out? The Gixxer's are loud when you put a noisy can on it! :D

I really want to see that video now! lol

Not sure, can't see the can from the video. I'm guessing not stock though!

I didn't do a full throttle flyby, not sure why :o I was really just testing out that road and seeing how windy it is. A sock over the recorder did the job of eliminating most of the wind :D

After pulling my clutch lever in for a gear change it sometimes sticks half way rather than returning fully.

What is likely to be the cause of this and is it an easy fix?

Fraying clutch cable would be my first guess

Yep, could be that, take the cable out the lever end and check it - you don't want to be stranded with a snapped clutch cable... believe me! :D

Okay so finally got around to this earlier today. No fraying visible. Could it be the cable and lever just need a good lubricating?

If so would GT85 spray lube be sufficient or is there better for clutch cables?

Either that or wd40,ideally you want a cable oiler, did you check the clutch lever pivot and down on top of the clutch basket/cover? Might need greasing

Edit, you might do better just sticking a new cable on anyway as a matter of coarse, keep the old one as spare

Does air filter such as K&N. DNA or BMC make any noticeable difference e.g. exhaust note, throttle response etc.?

I guess I'd need a cable oiler/lubricator if I got a new clutch cable anyway so might just invest in both luber and cable.

Modern cables generally don't need lubing as they're Teflon (think it's Teflon) lined inside. Lubing them can cause problems, so best just to do the pivot points at either end.

maybe my cable is frayed or kinked somewhere between the lever and where it comes out of the faring if they don't require lube. It's 6 years old and 15,000 miles so not exactly new.

Have heard they can make a decent difference, but some also say they can introduce more dirt in, which makes sense of they allow higher air flow. Some say they don't notice any difference. I've been tempted by a k&n one, but am a bit put off by some comments I've read.
