Put a deposit down on a ZX6-R last night :D 1999/T Reg, 16700 miles, near enough mint condition, MOT'd on the first of this month, scropion can, all for £1500, picking it up thursday, cant wait!

Carol Nash sent me a letter the other day. My insurance is up for renewal but they couldn't offer me a quote. They recommended an alternative broker and quoted £550. :o

I spent about an hour getting quotes from different places. Devitt called me back yesterday and offered me a quote of £206. Result.

Not related to any of the discussion above (maybe further back in the thread but i'm lazy) but thought my questions would be better in here.

I currently have a 2005 FZ6 Fazer now on 25,000 miles. It's covered much of the UK and survived a trip to Monaco in the 2 years i have had it.

I'm now looking for something a bit more interesting but still a Sports Tourer.

Tank range is very important as i don't want to be filling up every 120 miles. My fazer on a long run can get over 200 miles out of a 19 liter tank.
As is luggage and a few other luxuries.

My first thought is a Triumph Sprint ST 1050 (2008 ish) with panniers tank bag and a tail pack.
Admittedly the bike will become my main and used to commute around 20 miles a day into central London. My questions are what is the Sprint like to live with as a day to day bike and are there any alternatives i can look at?

I have already considered a bandit 1250 touring, VFR1200/800 and a couple others but found tank range to be a bit low.

I shall have a quick look at them.
I suspect the FJR will be a bit too big for me, similar to the Pan European.

I was also looking at another style of bike which i left out my original post.
something along the lines of the BMW 800 S, Kawasaki Versys, Triumph Tiger 1050 etc..

I know they are not exactly comparable bikes but i would also consider something like them.

VFR1200 only if you are blind and have no soul.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the Trumpet. The VFR 800 however is a lovely bike.

Someone will most likely come by and wallop me for this but what about a Kwak GTR 1400

heh, fair enough.

i quite like the look of the VFR1200 but is far too expensive for what it is. plus <130 miles per tank is a bit rubbish.

either way, i may try and get a test ride on one... just to say i have done it.
Already requested a test ride on a sprint.

Funny you should mention the GTR1400, i was just reading through a newspaper and spotted it. again it's very much like a FJR or Pan but I'll see if i can have a closer look at one.

Mate has the GTR and all boxes come off and looks nice.

Plenty toys on it to. stupid stuff like electric wind screen and adjustable lights

I see why you have not sold the bike the advert is just to full of negative remarks try backing it up with more good points than bad at the current state it reads like a nightmare even if it is cheap.

And telling people you have ridden the bike in all weathers is kinda suicide there is no need for the comment.

Anyway good luck with sale.

ps. I.m in no way saying to lie just need to have more good points than bad.

There was me thinking honesty would be better.
Ahh well.

No your reading me wrong honesty is great i wish all bike sales were as honest as your add but you need more good points surly you can think of some for instance > since i have owned the bike my bird pulling rate has doubled :D

Come on you know what i mean :)

It's all down to personal preference. You've listed a lot of cosmetic stuff but might be better off saying something along the lines of 'a small number of cosmetic marks as with any bike of this mileage'.
This give the buyer the reason to examine the pics and make a decision on whether it looks ok or not. Your ad is overly negative and is probably paints an unfair picture of the bike.

had a mess around today, some photos

I know, body is a little twisted in photos, i will move my top half off a bit more, but that was the idea of taking the photos in the first place :)

Yea drop your right shoulder more, its hard lol, sometimes felt like my head was 1ft away from the track but pics still show I need to drop shoulders more lol

Great pics though :D

not done any roundabout pics for years :) , sure this was the last one and that was on my first bike, a 96 ZX6R

Used to love it with the old sparking sliders, was great fun until the old bill turned up :D

I cant do it :( not because im scared but because my trousers don't have sliders :(

Plus the 130 back Tyre probably wouldn't go that far lol
