So I went ahead and got the Knox Handroids :D

They arrived yesterday. Wore them to work this morning.
Air holes under the fingers allow your hand to breathe nicely.
Nice and flexible, yet still got all the knuckle and palm protection etc :)

I picked mine up the other day.

First impressions: Woah!

The amount of feel you get compared to huge winter gloves is amazing - I'm down to proper two-finger braking rather than grabbing with the whole hand. The leather's really comfortable, and it feels well ventilated. The lace-system to tighten is also a nice touch, although there are still velcro straps around the lower palm.

The only problem I'm having at the moment is that the wrist plates are rubbing on my wrist bone when I'm gripping the handlebars and causing a little pain occasionally. I'm still trying to find the right combination of position and tightness settings to make it comfortable. If anyone's got any tips as to why this might be the case and what could be done, I'd be interested to hear them.

Think I'll be picking up a pair of them Handroids this weekend. I saw them mentioned a while ago, before they were released, but totally forgot about them, until the last few posts here hah.
Now it's getting to summer(looks outside at the cloudy sky and sighs), I fancy getting new leathers, so going to start with new gloves I think, as my current ones are crap lol.

Will be looking at boots next, then probably a 1 piece. Anyone got any recommendations for either of these?

I've found Dainese to be excellent. Have a Dainese K 1 piece and it fits ( or fitted - see last part of my post ) like a glove. You will hear some folk questioning the quality>price ratio as far as Dainese kit goes but I would strongly argue the fact that their stuff is superb and very safe to bin it into the kitty litter ( or ditch ) in. :D

Mate of mine crash tested his "K" two piece last year on the road and it protected him well at a 45mph get-off when he hit a patch of mud going around a corner. Jacket was cosmetically ruined but held up amazingly well.

Only thing I have found with Dainese stuff is that it tends to be on the smallish side. Or maybe I'm just thinking that because when I bought my one piece three years ago I could squeeze into a Euro 50 size suit. Now I struggle a bit. :p

I really like Arlen Ness and Spidi. Both make great gear if a little pricey. After spending hours trying on various kit I went for Wolf 2 piece race in kangeroo leather. really nice and understated with great armour. The roo leather is so soft as well.

I actually had my eye on a Danise Laguna Seca Div 1-piece, or possibly the Red Line Prof Estiva, quite pricey I know, but due a pay rise in a few months lol.

That BKS '10 range does look rather nice though :D.

Hmm decisions decisions. Guess it'll be more of a case to try different ones on, see what fits good. Definitely want one that fits better than my current 2-piece, but that's either because it's stretched because it's cheep, or I've lost weight lol.

Only thing I've got to say is that in hindsight, I wouldn't go for another set of leathers that are white coloured......they are a nightmare to keep clean. Really need to clean them after every ride to get rid of the fly cemetery that splats all over the damn things.

Dainese have had some pretty "middle of the road" reviews in bike mags recently, but I feel safe wearing these things. The leather is nice and thick, without being overly so, and its pretty comfy when wearing it on the bike.

Pain in the bum when your off it and wandering around though, being a 1 piece. :p

Yeah I'd never get white, I'm looking at either Black, or Black and Red, match the colours of the bike, not going to try and match the Silver bit :p lol.

And yeah, I've seen my mates in 1-pieces saying it's awkward, but I don't mind for the summer months lol. Looks better than a 2-piece :D.

Can't find a pic of my one piece from the front, only got this one from the back :p :-

I have a Spyke one piece as my main suit now, I still have a Berik two piece too, but the Spyke set get the most attention – they’re the “Cyber 2.0” ones; kangaroo mix.

The local George White had them on offer for £300 when I got them, they were an amazing fit without giving me a too much of a leather baggy bum (no ass!), I do wear a set of forcefield trousers under them though – same goes for the Berik set.

I think the Spyke stuff, or at least the older suits, are bargains – Italian leathers at low prices, and provided me with pretty decent protection when I had my low-side last year; a few scuffs and rips, also a hole under the forearm armour, but they’re still going strong.

Having said all this, I keep eyeing up the Arlen Ness one piece kangaroo suits on offer at said store - £500 down from £800….

Do it scort the Roo Arlen Ness suit is sexy lol, got mine in the sales before xmas for £450 well worth it for the price, not had much use mine, only had a 5 min trip in it but felt good just that :p

I really like the look Dainese gear but im not so sure its built well lol, ive seen quite a few lads on track go down relatively low speed crash and the dainese either split at the seems or had big cuts in them, my BKS has been down once on track and barely any marks on it, and my old 2 piece alpinestar had been down a few times too and had no problems with that either.

Though I think they were the fancy 1 piece leguna suit I think, one guy was in a black one and the other a white one at another track so maybe its just that one suit thats abit naff lol.

I have 2 Alpinestars GP Rep 1 piece suits , 1 ventilated for track days abroad ;)

For trips out I usually wear Dianese pants zipped to a Dainese jacket.

Can't zip Alpinestars and Dainese together so hardly wear my other Alpinestars trousers :(

Alpinestars Super Tech boots and GP Tech gloves.

No complaints here and won't buy anything else , saved me a few times in the past

Went to Metropolis on Vauxhall - Not sure HG stock them...

Ah right OK, I didn't actually mean to say HG lol, I was going to say Sondel which is in Highbury, just got mixed up :p.

Is the Metropolis in Vauxhall a big place? I may have a blow out weekend on the old Credit Card and get everything, gloves, boots, 1-piece etc lol.

yeah Metropolis is pretty big, seem to have a big range of clothing.
I went to Farnborough last weekend, theres a HG and a Infinity just 500m apart, worth a look if your on a ride out that way. Both good sized stores.
Theres a big J n S over merton way, just near the Korean food store!

Hmm, I'll actually be passing Farnborough on Friday on my way to London on the M3, so may have a quick pop in to check it out, cheers for that :).
I can see this being an expensive weekend haha.

Metropolis had a lot of stuff in there by the looks of things. If you get bored, you can cross the road to try and blag your way into MI6 :)

I'll just flash my Army ID card, they'll be fine ;) lol. But yeah, I'll definitely be giving them a look at the weekend, Metropolis that is, not the spooks :p.
