Bioware's Anthem

The map and loading times are a joke! The controls also feel strange, its easy to get disoriented, never had this in other games? It's still could be good but feels like it will be deserted fast, more so when the division 2 is out.

Very disappointed - I stupidly had high hopes for this.

The thing I find incredible is that allegedly they have been working on this for 6 years. It has all the hallmarks of a 2 year asset flip from Andromeda.

Judging by videos and reviews etc, sounds like they’ve definitely rushed this for release rather then just saying it’s not ready and delaying it , like say what rockstar would do, they’ve just released a game that’s not finished and intend to fix it with patches and expect people to wait

Just done the first mission (find that Arcanist in the ruins (and by god those big ******* with the shields and flame throwers take some punishment)) and got the dreaded "You are leaving the mission area, please return in 10 seconds" window pop up. Why the **** have a full open world if missions are restricted by invisible walls? I just knew there had to be something annoying, it wouldn't be EA otherwise would it‽

That part was fun. Currently playing it on the PS4 in solo (private) mode on hard with just the pistol and playing as Intercepter. It ripped right through those beasts with the flamethrowers and shields. Quite enjoying it to be honest.

My mate Cerb ( i know he'll read this) said he's got 70 hours in (that was last week)..... If he's still playing in a month then i'll know he's doing it to prove me wrong!

Anthem = EA cash grab
Apex = EA nearly polished temp cash grab.

Back to Arma 3 Exiles i go! Wubadubalub

I played the beta which was enough to work out this wasn't ready, it's a poor man's destiny or was in the beta doesn't sound like it's improved at all based on everything I've watched and read

Hi guys, I've been trying to play Anthem using Origin the past 2 days and I'm sorry to say but my performance is shocking. I'm using the latest nvidia drivers with my GTX 1060 6GB and the game is jerking, stuttering, jumping frames backwards and really low fps from 30-55fps.

What's really strange is though the demo played flawlessly and I must have played the demo over 20 hours. And also when I installed the full game the other day and I did the into mission that played flawlessly too but then the game starts and you go to that Fort and you choose your Javelin and start your first mission and then all of a sudden the performance is terrible and unplayable. The game is completely broken for me now.

Can anyone please offer me any tips or advice how to fix these issues or get the game working? And does anyone else have the same issues I've described?

My full specs are i5 3.4ghz, 16gb DDR3, 512gb m.2 and GTX 1060 6GB on windows 10 with full updates.

Also I was playing the game on high/ultra and even if I change the settings to medium or low it makes no difference.

Thanks in advance.

Is this the game that Mass Effect Andromeda was supposed to be? Certainly appears to lend from it quite a bit.

I could have forseen this. They half-arsed ME Andromeda in favour of a game that is arguably worse. Nice one, Bioware...The golden days of Jade Empire, Kotor and ME are well and truly behind them now.

Apparently the day one patch has made framerates worse for some people. At least that's what I've read.

Hi mate, thanks for your quick reply, much appretiated.

I also wanted to try explain something in a bit more detail, hopefully I can put this point across clearly. You know how sometimes you get a single player PVE game and the fps isn't 144fps like you'd expect in battlefield or something. Sometimes you get a game where the fps is 50-60fps and yet the game feels butter smooth and runs fine? Do youi know what I mean? Well this game was one of those games, it was one of those games that ran butter smooth on 50-60fps (where as I'm sure most people would want 144fps some game like this it really doesn't matter) So the reason I'm explain this is because I don't feel like the problems I have is to do with the fps. It's more sttutering, rubber banding, jerking, frames jumping backwards, I'm not sure if I'm using the right words, but you know when you walk forward one step and the game jerks you back 2 steps? Do you get what I mean? I'm 35 and played PC games over past 20 years and I've had this happen before in other games but this is the first time it's happened in years.

Also my PC runs Battlefield 1, Metro Exodus, Resident Evil 2 & 7, Doom, Fifa 19, Apex Legends, Star Wars Battlefront and VR in high/ultra settings without a hiccup so this game should definitely perform well on my PC.

Plus the demo and the full game tutorial both ran butter smooth also, it's just when you start your first mission in the open world, that's when all these issues started to happen.

I really hope they patch the game ASAP because surely this game should run perfect for everyone who is on a GTX 1060/1070/1080. If they can't make it run good on 1060 then surely all the players on cards lower then mine will suffer too?

I found a forum post here with some potentional fixes to try so I've just implemented these fixes, going to launch the game now and try the 2nd mission and see if it has made any difference. I'm also going to run the game in the lowest possible settings. I'll report straight back.

EDIT: One more question for you guys, should I be running in full screen mode or borderless? Does either effect performance?
