BitFenix Prodigy ITX build

I know this sounds far fetched but maybe, just maybe they had a problem with delivery, it's not totaly unheard of...........

.........although that can't be possible, things like that never happen.

i work in the retail sector and if i order any thing i am given a deliver time, if its late im given another delivery time, if its late again i source else where, needless to say it never gets to the third option and even if its late I TELL MY CUSTOMERS!!

My own thread has now been edited to reflect the change :)

Not tried for 2200Mhz no as BCLK OC'ing has proven to be to unstable in the past in my experience, very very happy with it running at 9-10-10-21-2T though; I'll probably have a play around again at a later date.

It truly s*cks with the situation with the Prodigy, it would have been quicker to import one from Europe and not that much more expensive with the Euro being so weak just now.

Thank you also, I love the TJ08-E to bits: it's a great case :D

i see your oc'ing with a 2600k, dont play with the bclk, ivy has a little play i have heard up to 107 but i would not go more than what i am on atm.

i have just been playing and got 4.7GHz with temps hitting 87c, im going to play a little more but im happy with 4.7 :)

i like the look of your case but the prodigy will be mine lmafo

well i just got in contact with the competitor where i bought my H80 from, and i was surprised at how easy it was to get a replacement out. they are sending the replacement then once im happy with it i send back the faulty one AND they pay for the postage. AMAZING

On a side note it looks like i have to make a choice about my ram oc, its causing me headaches with my cpu oc, in real life terms i wont see any real difference between my 2200mhz and 2133mhz oc, so i have gone back to my 2133mhz oc (will play with timings another time)

although my current H80 is noisy as hell it is doing a great job at cooling my cpu only hitting 65c under load :) im going to bump up the multi again :)

well so far so good 4.6GHz @1.28v temps peeking @ 76c but hover around 65c

just playing out prime then will do IBT max for 5 rounds

**EDIT** had to up the volts to 1.29v but i dropped the iGPU volts to offset -0.005v and temps have dropped 5c!!

More good news -

1) i have totally F'd up my back
2) my new H80 is here and does NOT have a grinding noise but is still a little loud :(

i will see what it is like in my case and make a decision tomorrow :)

mean while 4.6GHz very stable @ 1.28v.

I will post some pics tomorrow about why the Asrock z77e-itx is one of the WORST boards i have ever come across!!!!!!!! its only saving grace is that it is nice to look at, feature packed and good for OC'ing

its all in bar the H80 which will NOT fit in any way!!!!!!!!! the over hang of the fans and the sump on the rad snag the pump......... H100 should fit.

i have opted to not use the ODD tray so i can have two front 120mm fans. IF you had a 200mm OR 230 you will keep the ODD, also if you want two 120mm fans on top you will loose the use of the ODD, again no big as i decided to get rid anyway.

all pics i will post tonight or tomorrow with full detail.

i am very happy with this case it was well worth the wait.

(Shouldn't have had to wait mate!!!!! ;))

Good to hear it's with you though :)

I think I'll drop a 920 into mine with the 3570K

I'll see how the 620 copes before and after I've done some lapping and 3570K IHS surgery first though :D

if you plan on having the odd tray in it will be a very big squeeze, also how tall the the pump coz the bottom of the rad will snag it!

UPDATE 4

so at long last my case has arrived!! (yes i peed my pants a little!) but coz of my done in back it has been slow :(

i loaded the dvd drive in to the ODD tray first

then i tested to see if i could have the top drive trays in with my gtfx, i couldn't photograph it but there is like 1mm of space behind that! :D

i had to turn the trays to the opposite side otherwise the quick release snagged the gtfx

then i went about sticking all my fans in................ um think again!! i wanted two 120mm's at the front and two on top for good air flow but with the ODD tray you cannot have two top and front 120's! you could fit a 230mm on the front and have one 120mm on the top? i decided to loose the ODD tray.

see? :(

then i fitted the board and realised that again i wouldnt be able to have the H80 as it will not fit!!!
notice the top of the rear 120 is lined up with the top 120 fan, an H60 might fit. so im ordering an H100, if that has pump noise then i will look at air cooling but coz of my board i will be limited!

the red line denoted where the rad would have been and the yellow where the other fan would have been

redline denote where screw holes are and how much space there is in the roof

notice how you have a sump on the bottom and on the top

well even if i took out the top fan the sump hit the roof! flip it upside down and it hit the top of the cpu/pump housing

also the tubing was an issue :( i think even the antec will have the same problem with the sumps although the tubing is better and the pump/cpu block looks smaller?

then i thought about my PSU................... one word.............. DAMN! that is so tight in there, im so glad i went fully modular but still the back of the psu that is bolted to the case bulges a little, i would have been screwed if i had gone bigger than 650!

the yellow and black cables look good in this case and the cable management is actually quite good

i bought a 3.5" fan controller to go in one of these drive bays but there was no real way of fixing it to the tray so i made some holes and filled them with screws :p

that looked like a good place to start drilling!!!

NOPE i drilled straight into the pcb behind the knobs ( no damage thank god! )

like a glove

again i like the colours of the cables :)

SSD in

gtfx in

now at this point when everything is cable tied and in place you would have thought that i had checked that i had put all the header cables in correctly........................ NOPE out the card came and a little rewire later........

BOOOOOOOM fin

well all most, i have sent my H80 back and need my refund before i can get my H100 so there is still more to come :)
