Black Myth: Wukong

2 hours in, enjoying it, I complained about open world games recently, enjoying a more linear straight to the point game (without what looks like a map, or I haven't bothered to go deep in the menu's enough and constant bs side quests to attempt) thank you, give me the meat and let me go crazy.

are they due late 2024 early 2025 ? im hoping to upgrade my whole set up as a 8gb 2080 is about at its limit now, im thinking maybe 5090 at the end of the year and 5080 and similar cards early 25 ?

Yeah I think that’s about right. There is a lot of “5090 delayyyyyYyYed” going about but I suspect that’s to ensure they can make the most dollars out of the 4090 stock before their ‘surprise launch’.

What GPU have you got? It actually scales well if you're happy to drop settings and use upscaling like DLSS or FSR!

3090 - I think I got 60fps on the benchmark with DLSS on and settings that are ‘very high’… so not terrible!

Here is what it looks like in HDR using RTX HDR, Windows Auto HDR does not look anywhere near as good, it's basically a little punchier SDR lol, whereas RTX HDR uses the Nvidia Game Filter backend to detect and apply HDR like you would normally expect. It's much closer to native HDR as a result.

Game Filters do have a small performance impact however, 5-10fps.

This is the first game of recent times where 60fps actually is very responsive without frame gen - Weird to describe but it's smooth as silk and quick, probably helped by a combo of 240Hz VRR and Reflex though but none of the other UE5 games that have come out feel as quick as this does until they are running with frame gen enabled.

Unreal engine 5.0, not the more recent versions (5.3/5.4).

The visuals and performance would be even better if it was running on the latest versions as they offer some significant feature additions over 5.0 too. Though this 5.0 is the Nvidia branch so some differences apply.
