Black Pudding - yay or nay?

Hell yay... gives a lovely bit of extra flavour to the full english breakfast, mix it in with the beans and or tomatoes...

I don't know if it's a weird black country thing, but my father in law likes it raw with cheese/cheeseboard... I can't say I'm a big fan of that but it does have a certain flavour raw.

Another nice way to eat it is with some fried potatoes, a runny fried egg and some apple pieces that have been thrown in the frying pan so they go slightly soft.

The combination of the black pudding with the apple and potato goes really well together.

Love it, never used to though. Couldn't stand the stuff when i was younger, but as I've got older absolutely love the stuff now. Even got the wife into it, who was dead set against it. Would like to try some new makes as only ones we get is either the Bury one or supermarkets own brand.

Its my favourite starter, black-pudding with scallops and a few slices of apple or apple puree NOM NOM.

Then we was out last year and had a black pudding scotch egg that was NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

I'm southern and love black pudding and I also love haggis.

haggis is getting more popular. you get haggis pakora and haggis balls in a lot places now as starters. good option to go for if you don't fancy buying a full one if you are the only one having it. as a lot of people won't go near it. i normally get the one for 2 and split over 2 days.

I do love haggis. But black pudding just makes me think of picked scabs. :o:(

I eat all sorts on my travels, spending much of my time in the Middle East. Sometimes meal times are more akin to a bush tucker trial.

But black pudding? Has to be a no.

Obviously yay. Even the dreariest NHS hospital canteen can’t spoil black pudding! I appreciate that there are different levels of excellence here, but even the bottom of the ladder is amazing.

I have noticed its becoming more common to have less fat in it though. Got to have big chunks of the stuff to be tasty, otherwise its too dry.
