BMW and M Power Owners

Cheers for reply Gibbo. will reply more detail later

I have a 2 month old so need a 3rd seat :D I drove a M3 DCT 5 yrs ago at Nurburgring and really did like it and always wanted one since then. The Mustang was only a quick go at Milbrook last year but certainly a nicer place to be.

The 997 I haven't tried but I like the idea of still being a sports car and good long term value.

Think M3 V8 is winning at moment, seen a lot of nice ones including the cutters one. (Plus a wrapped grey one)

Is the M5 the new sub 30k performance bargain then now?

Not many cars can hold of a GTR and in fairness the M5 has far more stuff for the money, obviously from a standstill the GTR will have it but still 560HP at under 30k for a relatively new car just seems like an epic bargain, can they really get cheaper?

Also if you drop £3000 on one (Evolve maps / Downpipes) they throw out nearly 750HP. Damn this is beating Mustang on value for money horsepower modifications.

My only complaint its a V8 and it sounds so muted. :(

If noise, power, brute force, nicer place to sit, better tourer, buy the M3! Also I might be wrong but I think the M3 with a map and exhaust yields around 450HP too and of course ESS offer a range of super chargers. ;)

911 if you want that solid feel and absolute class leading handling that also has a challenging aspect to it and real great sound in the cabin when on it, buy the 911.

I too would be leaning towards M3, they have a lot more presence than a 911 (except GT3/Aerokit) and the noise they make is glorious with the cheap exhaust mod. Yes there is lots of really nice colours, grey, blue and not sure if GTS orange was available in run of the mill cars too and of course competition pack is nice but a lot say it really offers very little in driving dynamics and you can get wheels easily which look great.

I'd be very temped by an M3, DCT, EDC in grey or blue. Great cars!

this

Pick my m5 up Sat, cant wait its been about 2 years since i owned something with 400 plus ponys

Still wish is had 4wd, but meh, track days ahead :)

What is it about the 4wd that you'll miss? Can't help but think you won't miss it all that much when you've picked up the M5.

Speaking as a dad, I wouldn't consider the E92 now, I'd have to go for the E90. 2 doors are such a PITA when you have a baby. The only issue is that the competition pack was never available on the E90, or at least I have never seen one for sale.

It can't be that bad if you drive normally, surely?

I was only half joking but with the M135i, if you're trying to make a quick getaway, it can start slipping about all over the place on occasion and struggle to find grip (in anything other than good conditions).

Or you can just put it down to driver error, I dunno :(

I have had bmws in my time, m3's and the like, also audis.

I was about 3 yards from the dealership driving fairly regular before the TCS light came on the BMW and it was a struggle the rest of the drive.

In a audi / 4wd you really forget this, and i have been fortunate to this in the last few years.

I will get used to it again and i am sure the bmw will reward me, but honestly in this day and age if your not a drivers driver, the awd is the only way foward imo (in the uk)

Just use good tyres and don't mash the throttle everywhere.

Trust me having driven my mates M5, even rolling into the throttle that torque can easily blow the tyres off. :D

Though he might be on Pzero, so those aint good tyres. :D
