BMW and M Power Owners

Interesting to see that many others that had the same engine either had the issue or didn't.

It does kinda set my mind at ease knowing its most likely nothing wrong, but still have that lingering feeling "what if". still the money can go onto another issue that can now get fixed which is a good thing.

Cheers Guys

Does anyone have experience of changing tyres to a different size from the originals? My Z4 35iS currently has the default run flat tyres, which amongst other things are bone hard as the sizes are F:225 35 R 19, R: 255 30 R19 - hard rubber bands basically. I'm currently wanting to change to Michelin PS4S.

A couple of people on the Z4 forums have changed to 235 35 fronts and 265 30 rears, which obviously gives you more sidewall (+non rft) but also more tyre width. Any issues with doing this apart from the tyres possibly being a bit more expensive?

Honestly given your posts on this car since you got it the best thing you could do would be to sell it. These are old cars which are going to require time, effort and money to keep them decent.

I will sell it soon, just got a few things that need doing, Roof being the biggest one, There's someone in Bristol who can sort it and move the Roof Motor into the boot for £150 which ain't bad.

Right now i'm looking for Control arm bushes, they're badly shot and need urgent replacing, so looking for places that sell them for reasonable prices as the garage said the supplier they use said they cost £100 each which they instantly told them to shove off, found them for £42 if someone can confirm they're alright to use.

So, my dad has just picked himself up an F10 528i, it currently has a BMW warranty until October and he's sure its a waste of money to keep it after that, anyone care to weigh in their opinions?

I redid most of the suspension on mine a few months back putting on a b12 kit, replacing control arms and bushes, drop links and top mounts.

I used lemforder for most but had meyle hd control arms and bushes and they have been fine. Looks like they are about £45 on ebay for just the bushes.

Meyle seems to be thrown around a lot on the z4 forum, found the one's you've mentioned on ebay for the same price so i'll probably give them an order tonight and get it all sorted by the end of this week.

Cheers again.

It's fairly well documented around the webbernet that the S63 uses a lot of oil if not run in in accordance with BMW specs. Mine does, at one point 1 litre every 2-5k. It's settled down now, perhaps because it does less short journeys and 2 longish (120mile) trips each week.

Can we just have a few post links in post one of this thread showing how life saving the BMW warranty is?

PMKeates epic new engine claim on his M5 is the ideal example of just how good the coverage is.

Sigh. First time ever but I've curbed one of my wheels.

Obviously it had to be one of the pristine unmarked ones and not the one the dealer did a crap refurb on, too.

Who is the absolute best for refurbs now? I want perfect factory finish :(

Are Lepsons not what they once were?

Oh dear. Got any pics?

Obviously Lepsons traditionally used to be the go to place if you wanted an A+ sterling job, but some people have been disappointed. However, this is always going to happen and god knows how many thousands of wheels they refurbish every year with probably only a handful of customers not completely satisfied. The only issue is that if you are in that tiny minority and they don't go a great job, it's a lot of hassle to keep sending the alloy back and forth, all the while whilst your car is off the road.

Have you tried contacting the dealer? I know they will just outsource it to a local wheel refurb place, but the key here is that unless you are completely satisfied with it, you can reject it face to face and get them to do it again.

Dealer refurbs are crap - one of the wheels was done by the dealer when I bought it (I presume, they never said it had been though) and it's just a generic silver. Kicking myself for not noticing until I first cleaned it.

Enough boring oil talk...has anyone used the GoPro App in their BMW? Apparently, you can have the GoPro camera in the car and when you use the app it integrates with iDrive. Use multiple GoPros in the car and the iDrive wheel will scroll through them so you can record from around the car / different views.

I like the sound of this as I'm somewhat of a voyeur....

anybody updated the idrive themselves from the bmw website + usb stick? Worried I might brick it lol

Having an issue with spotify album art which apparently gets better with an update
