BMW and M Power Owners

If I was looking at a 330i coupe as my next potential car, what should I be looking out for and what year/mileage combo ought to be within my sights? I think I need to be looking at post-2008 for the updated iDrive but I don't have a clue about options, interiors, etc. Red leather is a massive no-no, but anything else would potentially work. Probably stick with a safe, dull black though.

Budget is c£11k and I'm looking for one that is either Space Grey or like this blue/grey - assuming that is even a genuine BMW colour?

The newer idrive on the E92 is from 2009.

The only must have option for me would be Pro Nav. M-Sport looks better than SE, but an SE model with 230 alloys look nice.

If that cab is Space Grey, I like it. Perfect colour for me.

With regard to nav, would Pro afford me things like DAB or is that an option on top? I’d like a few toys in the car but I don’t want to pay for anything unnecessary, although what is to me might not be to others.

230 Alloys look rather lovely. Reasonable price for a set if the car doesn’t have that style and I want rid of the ones it does have at some point? And when it comes to warranty, is that something I should be considering?

Question for the experts if I may. M235i with BMW 405M 19" wheels with 245/30 rear and 225/35 front Pirelli P Zero tyres. What pressures should I inflate to? I've read 32psi front and 35psi rear but I'm not sure if that is for the standard wheels (or if wheel size has an impact).

For info, iDrive is saying 2.5bar all round (36psi).

EDIT - Answered my own question with further research. 2.6bar all round it seems - higher than I thought.

Can't wait to ditch the runflats!

^ Mercs always have all of the pressure info inside the filler cap. I am sure BMW must put a plate somewhere with the info on whether that be in the door shut or filler cap or wherever.

36psi seems very low to me? I dont think i have ever run a car that low.

One on the drivers door frame below the catch.

Mr Fox! Think I've finally found a car, going to see it tonight. Just a question about the engine if you wouldn't mind helping me out please?

Any known issues with the early N57 engine in the 2011 F11 535d? I know they revised it for later models so wondering if it should be avoided.

Thank you

@NVP later models had it revised to be euro 6 compliant. Though there was a change between the T0 and T1 variant around 2011. I think it was a change to the fuel injection pressure not sure it was in response to any issues but gave a small increase in power.

Thank you. I've read it went from 302 to 313 power wise. All I really want is reliability when I take this one into the high miles

So pretty much everything but Radar Cruise and a HUD (and at a stretch a TV).

That is an enormous specification car - very nice indeed. There are no real inherent massive issues but if you want 'high mileage reliability' then an everything-spec 7 year old 5 Series is probably not a great idea

Adaptive Drive is a mixed blessing - in fine fettle they drive exceptionally well, but the dampers are a thousand quid each and will likely be nearing replacement time on an older car. It's exceptionally rare, I have never seen a Touring with it fitted. Also exceptionally rare is radar cruise, almost no F10/F11 was ever specified with it.

I would say 36spi is completely normal for cars, over the years mine have varied from high 20s to mid/high 30s, what were you expecting? With my current two cars the 9-5 is 36 front and 35 rear, and the Elise runs 23psi front and 26psi at the rear.

Anyone had any recent experience selling their BMW? Unfortunately I'm shifting to family car mode and so my 2012 330i e92 has to go. I can find zero for sale nationally so I'm struggling to put a value on it, any opinions?

Pro nav stuff and a good selection of toys etc. Just looking for ballpark. Out of warranty and service packs now.

My e class cabriolet runs 40/42 and my SL class runs 38/40, 36 sounded low to me :)
