BMW and M Power Owners

They would make more money! Bl**dy salesmen! I told them all through the process of buying mine that I would be paying cash for my car. They tried 3 times to go to finance whereby I would save £2k off the price, when I humored them they told me their interest rate was circa 10% (can't recall the exact figure now) - I lol'd!

It's absurd. Who would take finance from BMW when a bank will give you far more attractive rates??!

The deal they offered was the deposit contribution you get when you take finance. Who'd take finance from BMW? Somebody who realises it gives them an extra £2k off and the car and understands they can clear it when they wish, fund the car how they want and benefit from a further £2k discount.

There's a bit of a stigma associated with financing, but if done right you might find that you can save a bit more money compared to an outright cash purchase. So long as you settle the finance agreement within the cooling off period.

I had no idea you could do that! Too late now I've already paid a deposit? Car won't be ready till Wednesday.

Been given a merc e220 estate as a hire car, very nice to look at and also a comfy interior, much more room than the 5 and quite a lot more space in the boot too - drives terribly though, every bump is a shake and the body roll is far too much for any fun to be had. Not what I'd expect from a merc. Don' like their comand console thing either, but maybe if I was an old.man it would be alright (with an larger engine).

My brother in laws M4 was pre registered and already had nigh £10k off the retail price, despite a mere 92 miles on the clock! - he was offered no further discount for taking finance (which is why he bought it outright) for the 1 series, finance saved him £500 off what he paid (the exact figure he didn’t say) both were bought with his bonus. (Alright for some!)

Because generally the deposit contribution is on new cars not used ones.

Explains that one then, must say, one hell of a drop for under 100 miles on the clock, why on earth buy new?

Because you can get discounts of circa 10% on list for the M4 right now?

So really the pre-reg was only about £3k less than a new factory order - still a good saving but hardly the no-brainer it seems.

I stupidly put one of the febreeze air fresheners on my front vents and it melted the bezel around it so asked BMW to change it whilst they'e doing the body work repair.... 370 odd pounds!!!!! Bezel cannot be changed and needs the whole vent replacing!! Most expensive air freshener I've ever used :(

Uh oh you know what that means... better get back on the phone to the warranty people asap!!

Haha joke ;)

Fuel pump maybe? Not sure, I honestly know nothing about how cars work, only how to drive them haha

Hah! I shall find out soon!

Ok, I need something to keep in my car in case of a flat tyre as I have non runflats on my F11. Any recommendations?

Cant you just press the SOS button or use your phone to call the recovery services. Actually its another one of my bug bears about BMW ownership, no spare wheel and using crappy runflats. Utterly annoying.

Don't think there's enough room in the f11 is there? You can get the space saver in a bag, I think that's it.

The spray kits are pointless, every flat I got in my M5 I had to call the AA :(

Want to ditch the run flats in mine but feel I shouldn't if I'm ferrying my baby around.

Best place to sell a set of 17" style 391? Ebay/gumtree the only ones I can think of, ate there any companies or maybe garages?

Also, does putting a set of staggered 18's on an SE require anything additional?

Thank you :)
