BMW and M Power Owners

Available from launch on F model 5 and 6 Series.

It's also a bit naff.
Bit naff? It's not as decent as the more modern systems I've used but man is it a lifesaver on places like Soho Rd. where it's tight parallel parking on busy roads. Although it is much quicker to park manually and especially using surround view, but less faffing with auto park on the busy road.

Watched in amazement from m my cab as a 640d parallel parked near Harrods in Knightsbridge in one manoeuvre despite the space being barely the same size as the car,he snuck in between two taxis like they weren’t there, I guess he was one of the few to tick that option or a parking God!

It's very slow and it's very risk averse. It also can't see curbs.

It's good fun to test but anyone competent will barely bother with it as you can park yourself quicker.

I have an m sport 320d with NBT EVO. I regret not getting the reverse camera and have been looking around for a retrofit.

Has anyone on here retrofitted one, if so what kit? Just after some ideas really.

If you look around a few bmw forums there are a few retrofits available. No idea how good bad they are though.

Just booked an extended test drive in the new 540i xDrive for Friday. Had a quick go in it today and seemed great.

Any tips on the options to go for/avoid? Looks like LED is standard on this model - will the Visibility package add much to the looks like it did in the F10?

Gets you LED indicators!

Does anyone have a good guide to the F30/F31/F32? Currently considering one rather than a new Alfa Giulia on PCP as that's going to stretch my budget a bit too much.

I've discounted the Mercedes C250 (too old now and underpowered), Lexus IS300h (don't want a CVT), and Audi A4/A5 (too dull) - the 3/4 series is the obvious choice, no?

I've narrowed it down to the manual 428i, as I don't need the space of the saloon or touring really, and it's cheaper to insure as well as looking better. I'm unsure of Sport vs M Sport though (better steering wheel but worse suspension?). What are the best options? Pro Nav and Heated Seats - anything else?

I assume Approved Used is the way to go, extending the warranty afterwards? Or can this be done on cars purchased elsewhere?

The standard lighting option has crappy halogen indicators AGAIN, you need Icon LED for the better ones.

Also don't forget 4 zone climate - without it you get a crap 7 segment LCD casio calculator display for the climate.

Nice. Will be interested in the comparison
Initial thoughts...not MUCH faster in a simple straight line, certainly until you get to silly speeds anyway, but everything about it is much more connected, brutal, savage, immediate, urgent, whatever words you want to describe it. Grip is a level up, but so is the ability to get wildly out of shape! I’m glad it’s got a good TC system!

My 135i will also be going in a couple of months. Rear passenger space has always been tight, very tight, given im 6f 3 and have my seat as far back as it will go. Managed to put up with it as my 3 year olds car seat is put behind the passengers side. The pending new family arrival has forced me to rethink things, and its just not a family car, boot is to small as well.

Test driving a few new cars on Friday. 340i, S4 and S5 Sportback.

I must say in the year and a half ive had the 135i its been faultless, well other then all my online services going which I never bloody sorted. The engine is fantastic and ill be genuinely gutted when it goes.

Touring/Avant ftw

Icon LED then gives you partial reflector headlights, which aren't as bright as the old adaptive Xenons on the F10/F11. BMW seem to make strange decisions when it comes to headlights.

Wow really? That is bizarre - the LEDs on our Mini are brighter than the Xenons on my F10 so it seems odd that the upgraded lighting option on the G30 would be worse than both?
