BMW and M Power Owners

I've been looking at 335/330D touring and was wondering if there are any difference between say a 2014 model and a 2016 model?

I appreciate spec changes but just wondered if there are any improvements/changes that have been made during this time.

I have a certain minimum spec I'm after - Pro Nav, adaptive suspension, M brakes, power tailgate, pan roof, heated front and preferably rears. Not hugely bothered with xDrive, Quite keen on the red leather seats too :)

I'm either looking at a lower miles 330D or higher miles 335D

There was a facelift in 2015 and 2016 onwards cars have a newer version of idrive. The fact facelift added LED headlights.

All 335d are xdrive.

Facelift also fixed the stupid cup holders and added predictive satnav gearbox which is great :). Personally wouldn't worry too much about adaptive suspension, the ride is just right anyway imo. Also worth bearing in mind the XDrive goes back to regular ride height (or higher?) and looks stupid.

Is there much difference between a 30 and 35?

I've driven a 2016 330 saloon which was a nice car. I would ask my local BMW dealer but I know they haven't got a 335 to test - last time I took a 330 I was gone 2 hours rather than down the road and back as the lad expected so must make sure I don't get the same dude if I go in there :)

So maybe a later 30 touring non-xDrive would be a better bet than an older 35 xDrive touring?

Big difference are the extra 2 cylinders on the 335i. I’ve not driven the 328 or 330 but was out in my 335i and Sports mode can become addictive :D

Maybe it is a little strange someone approaching you like that, but then you might own something that has forever been his dream car?!
Maybe, he didn’t strike me as an enthusiast though, more interested in where I live and park it which I wondered about...

The E65 is hideous. The E38 is not, and Scania's E38 is near immaculate and it is actually a car he wants to own... Can't believe you guys are shocked he didn't swap his E38 for a nail of a 100K mile E65 that some stranger offered him? :p
Thank you.

You fit in well around here :D Dont forget that it was far too expensive.
And you.... :p
Yeah, but let's bash him anyway coz it's beige and has the wrong V8.
You ‘n all. :D

I bet he rents as well.
You know, I reckon that E38 is actually a Fiero in drag.
Afraid I do rent, more than happy to buy a property in later life once I’ve got my inheritance but the longer I have to wait for that, the better.
Had to Google a Fiero, hmm... :p

Did you try the M2?

I drove one early last year - haven't driven this one as it's just been registered and is still in the showroom... they would have got it out but we had to leave to get to our karting session.

So yes, M2... brand new '18 plate LCI with M-DCT, Harmon Kardon, Reversing Camera and some other bits and bobs... in white... would have preferred the blue, but it was a £53k OTR spec and they offered it for £45k.

It's for wifey, although I'll drive it from time to time.

The plate is because she said something along the lines of "I'd love my numberplate to say DERP or something silly"... so when we got back I went online and found D3RRP for her :)

She's the one who needs to test drive it - so will be having another chat with the sales guy to arrange on Monday. Likely going ahead, she likes small BMWs and especially ones with a slightly tweaked front end to give more front end bite... so I already know she's going to love it. She was a passenger for my test last year, so she's also pretty confident. Will confirm but it's looking likely it will go ahead.

That’s my final guess based on 3 being on the plate you just bought in your other thread.

Nope... still can't get interested in anything electric.

@crinkleshoes cool. I found it to be hilariously fun. The one I nearly picked up was blue - stunning colour. List price was 53k too but they offered it for 46k.

Cool, doesn't sound like the deal was so special then... I guess they're easier to get hold of now.

I'm sure last time I looked they were still hanging around high 30s second hand.

Just checked pistonheads... looking like they're still high 30s / low 40s for a used one with 5-10k miles on the clock.

£45k brand spanking new doesn't seem so bad.

Yeah I need to spend more time in this to understand the long term charm away from the initial wow of the insant power, but it’s pretty compelling.
