BMW and M Power Owners

The last few months:

- Two separate punctures
- Leaking DCT gearbox
- ABS sensor and ring fault
- Failed water pump and thermostat
- Most annoyingly though, kerbed a wheel while parking on the driveway...:mad::mad:

After 4 weeks, and after having the car fault only once; when the technician was driving the car home and back (i.e. not on the diagnostics machine), they finally changed the High Pressure Fuel Pump. They cleaned the oil leak around the gearbox and have told me to take the car back after 1,000 miles to look at again. Got the car back on Wednesday, and this evening the same error occurred. I will keep monitoring it, and if it keeps happening will book it in again...

As I've mentioned I was given a new Z4 20i as a courtesy car that I was driving. Getting back into my E89, it just feels so much more special to drive, although I do miss the 'auto hold' function at the traffic lights.

What are people's experiences and opinions on the 6 Series Gran Coupe (F06)? I currently have a 2013 Mercedes C63 which I've had for around a year, and whilst I like the car I struggle to make the most of it with the amount of speed cameras, speed bumps and general city driving being in Dubai. I'm considering a 650i gran coupe (or coupe) as the 6 series seems well regarded and I should be getting an upgrade in cabin and ride quality departments, whilst not losing too much performance. The rattly cabin of the W204 is starting to grind a little also.

Any thoughts welcome :).

@alx fantastic place to be. Ate miles like nothing else. Was great getting out after a 5 hour drive and feeling completely relaxed. Looks great, both inside and out. Only downside was finding somewhere to park!

Thanks for the replies, I'm aware the N63 engine doesn't seem to be the most reliable so a warranty would be a must. I'd also only go for a N63TU engined car.

Most of my driving is up and down the main highway in Dubai, although not for very long as my current commute it around 12 miles / 20 mins. Dubai generally suits something to soak up the miles. Parking isn't a big issue as most of the spaces are well sized here due to the number of large 4x4s, Nissan Patrols, Escalades, Tahoes etc.

Will try and test drive and see what I think.

Anyone here got a 330e? New family car time for me in Feb 2020 and I've been looking at a number of different makes and models to grab a PCH deal on. The 330e has popped up a few times at decent prices on a couple of lease sites I have been watching. Wondering if anyone has experience of this model of 3 series?

Just had a look at this car. Done 11k, surprised to see that the vehicle status is advising new pads in 1.9k miles. 5 series goes through pads then!?

I presume this is based on some measurement device that needs the car to be driven. As that really doesnt sound right.
Remember that it could very easily have done more than 11k...take all modern car mileage with a massive pinch of salt, especially lower than average large comfortable cars like this.

Well order placed for an M340i in Dravit Grey. Now just the interminable wait whilst its put together, dealer is estimating delivery some time in January. It's the first new car I've bought so quite excited to be honest! Toyed with the idea of going Touring but couldn't bring myself to do it. My wife also preferred the saloon so that sealed it.

I should get hold of one in a few weeks for a weekend. People seem to like them but the boot is quite small.

Cool, be interested to hear your thoughts on it. Boot is small, yeah. Apparently there is a Touring version headed to the UK in 2020. I think I could live with the boot size of the saloon though.

I know everyone is in a different situation both financially and what they perceive the value of a £1. But that deal seems so expensive.

End of 4 years I've paid £20k and I then don't have a car at the end or I do but I have to give another 20k.

I guess that new car feel is worth it for some.

Wow. Just been in another with the tech pack. Head up display, key with a screen on, cameras, adaptive suspension.. Unbelievable, kinda makes just getting a base model boring.

Find one with the highest spec you can, whilst you’ll pay through the nose ticking those option boxes when buying new, used you’ll not pay much more than a car with no options on it whatsoever.

your biggest issue is finding one with decent options in the first place.

Because it's a piece of **** to clock a car these days and it's becoming increasingly common.
So massively common that to be honest if I am looking at a used prestige car these days then I’d assume that the mileage is probably not accurate (lol at the number of “95k mile” 5 year old S-classes for example :p) and then work back as best as I could through it’s history and profile the owner (if known) etc to try and convince myself that it actually is accurate. The use of “km blockers” are becoming almost a routine plug and play thing which people openly use in the leasing world especially, and on anything with a lot of value linked to the mileage.

I’m not sure how quickly that car should get through pads, I am not necessarily referring to that car specifically. Just don’t take a mileage reading on a car like that as meaning much at all.
