BMW and M Power Owners

Quick question I want to bounce off people, I have an E82 120D M sport 2010, on 114k serviced every 7k miles. Generally is a good car for the moment concidering it's engine

Opened the bonnet and around the bonnet catch underneath there is a radius of about 30 cm of soot , Iv never really noticed in that context before, there is no oil leaking around the engine bay, or on the undertray, pipes from what I could see were ok. It wouldn't be from air in take as that should take a different path.

Iv cleaned it up but will drive about again. Could it be an ERG leak of some sort?

Sorry I don't have anything newer to bring to the table.

Snap on the B58 -> N63 step!

Sold my 440i MPPSK GC to cazoo, and have replaced it with an MY 2021 m550i, which is an LCI G30.

Aventurin II individual paint (very interesting paint, it can be a VERY dark maroon in dull lighting but in direct sunlight it's a fantastically vibrant red)
Comfort pack with ivory nappa comfort seats
Cerium grey grills/mirrors (NOT black like most of them have, which was a hard no!)
Tech plus pack so HUD, driving assistant professional (radar cruise, self-steering, auto lane changing etc - so far it seems far better than autopilot on my wife's Model Y performance, especially in slower moving traffic!), surround cameras, HK audio etc
adaptive LED headlights with beam splitting etc.

70 plate, 7.5k miles

I did look an m5 competition instead, but as a 6'4 ~220lb broad shouldered chap, I did not get on at all with the excessive wings on the "buckets". Didn't even bother taking it out as i was uncomfortable before i'd even moved!

Anyway, 530bhp is more than enough for a practical car....
That is beautiful, love the colour.

With less than 9 weeks till this year's Nurburgring trip I thought it was about time I started my suspension refresh on my 2013, 95k F20 M135i.

The old adaptive suspension has seen better days so is getting swapped out for some Bilstein B8 shocks and Birds B1 springs. Whilst I'm at it I'm also fitting M4 lower control arms and tension struts, along with new top mounts, M Performance bump stops, drop links, inner tie rods, and track rod ends. Once I've managed to get everything fitted it'll be going along to Williams Performance for an alignment and to get the adaptive dampers coded out.

Managed to get the rears fitted tonight, and all going well the fronts will follow next week.

Nice! Let us know how the ride changes after this. I'm planning on doing some of these for my M140i next mods. I already have eibach pro springs ready to go on and plan on getting the bilsteins and some wheel spacers (12mm rear 10mm front). Will change them all in one go!

Hi guys, looking to buy a used BMW (3 or so years old) around £26k . Options are either a 320i M-Sport or 330e. I've had 3 litre diesels (Audi A6, A4, 33D) the last few years but my circumstances have changed recently. I just don't need the power beyond a 320 in the UK, don't do the distance and also can't afford much more than than that right now.

I had pretty much decided on a 320i, but there seems to be a lot of 330e's on the used market right now (most from 2021) at very reasonable prices. Economy once you've out of battery is worse than a 330i, but for short journey's which is what I do most of could be helpful

Any experience of one?

F series or G series? Not sure which the 330e came in.

Either way, it's a 320i with a load of batteries you have to lug about which take up boot space.

If you're looking at an F series, look at the F10 instead, it's a much nice car than the 3 series. But they really should have a 6cyl and the 530d is sublime.

It's only in a G. That was my thinking as well tbh and explains why there are quite a few of them available I suspect.

Had a 530d as a hire car a few times - yes very good cars, but probably abit big for what i need. Maybe will take another look.

thanks

Good option if you’re doing short journeys.

It all depends on whether you want the ability to have a small electric range.

Personally I think I’d give one a go.
