BMW and M Power Owners

Another release from BMW that looks worse than the last one at first. Hopefully this looks better over time too (I actually like the beaver grills now)

Interior is lovely, but as is the case with most modern BMW's, the outside looks horrific, the M340i and M240i being the exceptions

Wow. They really did a thorough job of making the 5 series mega undesirable.

I thought it'd take 2 generations to make the 5er ugly, but they managed it in one. The whole BMW lineup is now officially eww.

The 5 series is usually one of the safest models in terms of conservative styling and not ruining things. I had high hopes for this, especially with the i5 EV drivetrains as we have a salary sacrifice scheme through work, but that's far from being a looker. Will stick with my G31.

Without the BMW badges you’d think it was a Kia or Hyundai on the outside. Not sure if that means the Korean brands have really upped their styling game or BMW have massively dropped the ball. The former, I suspect.

With it would’ve been decent. Without it’s not! I stopped going to the dealer when I got my car. I figured at 7 years old, all main dealer serviced people wouldn’t be that bothered at that age. It’s still had whatever it’s needed at various times over the last two years though. Needs an oil change in a few months too

What did it come with? Did you tick the performance tyre option? I’m very happy with my Michelin PS5’s but Continental Sport Contact 7 or Good Year Eagle F1 assymetric 6’s are also great.
I think PS4's but was a while ago. I didn't go for performance tyres when I bought it. I tried Primacy 4's based on some recommendations but they haven't lasted very long.

EDIT
Look like PS5's are the go to.

Anyone replaced a heater control valve on an F11? Looking for ballpark costs.

Symptoms are loss of heating, all vents. Blower still works fine. Aircon works. No codes on obd2. I'm assuming therefore it's the heater control valve.

It looks like something I might be able to do if I have to, but if it's sensible price wise I'll just get it done.

Thanks in advance for any experience.

Took my Z4 in today for a couple of minor things for them to look at.

Was a bit upset it took a month to get an appointment for some diagnostics and then an extra day so they had a car available for me to use.

Then they asked me if I was OK with an auto, not ideal I thought but hey.

Then walked outside and got given a brand new, fully loaded M135i.

TBH, it's nice, sounds amazing and obviously very fast compared to an old 3 litre Z4, but I wouldn't swap.
