Why don't you get a quote from a dealer first before fobbing them off and looking at alternatives? Can someone offer some advice on a spare key fob? I have a BMW 520d (F10) and I need a spare key. I've heard the main dealer will be very expensive so looking at other options. Is it best to buy a fob from eBay and use a mobile key programming company to come and programme it?
Berry Group still seem ok, not noticing much increasesI noticed recently that one particular dealer group has prices that are considerably higher than all the others, regardless of where they are in the country. I think this is probably the dealer you've selected...
I wonder if this is an error as generally all the others are pretty much the same price. In some cases a dealer in Wales was charging far more than one in central London based on the online quote.
Try again and see what other local dealers are quoting.

I've tried 3 different dealer groups in the north west; Lloyd, Bowker and Williams, all are coming out similar.. at least from the BMW service website.I noticed recently that one particular dealer group has prices that are considerably higher than all the others, regardless of where they are in the country. Considering moving back to bmw. Thinking m340i. Can anyone summaries wtf the packs are? Basically I want some form of adaptive led headlights, hud and adaptive suspension. Any packs in particular that I need for these?
Adaptive LED headlights and Adaptive suspension are standard on the M340i. The head up display is part of the Technology pack.
Though it will depend on exactly what sort of adaptive function you want - if you want headlights with the automatic high beam which can split the high beam around traffic this is only available on cars with the Visibility Package, which adds laser lights as well.
The Adaptive LED headlights will turn when you turn the steering wheel and can have a high beam assistant which simply switches the high beam on or off.
Laser doesn't sound essential to me then, just a nice to have.
Anything else significant you can recommend as good options? Or anything that's a complete waste of time?
Are folding mirrors and electric seats still options or are they standard?
I don't think I've seen the laser functionality ever work on mine (Though I've not owned it through winter yet) but the better high beam assistant is absolutely excellent and something I did not want to be without. The daytime running lights also look much nicer as well, so for me the Visibility Package was on my essentials list. It does make it more difficult to find a car though as most of them don't have it.
I set a minimum specification when searching of Comfort, Visibility and Technology Pack and ended up with exactly that. Having now had the car almost 3 months, the Comfort pack I could happily do without. Comfort Access just isn't that useful and a heated steering wheel, whilst nice to have, isn't essential. However, the head up display, better stereo and the lights discussed above were important to me.
It is really quite difficult to find a car with a high specification and more difficult again if you don't want all the black trim and the black wheels.
Folding mirrors are standard. Electric seats require either the Premium Package (Cars older than November 2020) or Comfort Plus Package (Cars newer than November 2020). This was a compromise I had to make - I was disappointed because I don't think manually operated seats have any place in a car of this price or type, but you have to compromise somewhere with used cars.
this package will make it look like a 150k mile 320d instead.
