please just drive safely and don't do anything reckless :/Going for a drive in a V8 has been my salvation through periods of sleepless nights and other child related ‘phases’

Congrats on breading. FWIW mine is now 3 and I am looking to swap the E43 for a Bullit or something similar. The period of tonnes of crap dies off so quickly (in hindsight). She now won't even let me put her in the chair, so access is irrelevant - she jumps in and sorts "on her ownself".You're making pretty good points tbh. At the minute owning anything special feels a bit pointless as I'm just not facing the opportunity to drive it, that was even before the little one rocked up. However whenever I get in it and hear the engine fire up its great fun!

oh phewSorry that’s rather gone over my head
I’m basically saying the car has been a great instrument for getting kids to sleep as well as giving me an outlet when things have been tense indoors. Not sure where reckless comes into it, that’s been over and done (as far as car related) for many years now.

Edit: also, she loves "TURBO!!!11"
Oh man if my wife could drive a bigger car I'd be 911 and a Dacia estate in a heartbeat.Yours and @naefeart 's comments are definitely making me have a ponder. Our other car is a diesel estate so sensible is covered...hmm.

No, does not include the ecu.The exhaust is less than a grand, if you look hard enough BMW dealers will supply it for less than £900 (chrome tailpipes). A large part of the discounting is the fact the exhaust has been reduced loads. This is a 340i or 440i right?
I never said there was an ECU change. Modules associated with it have been messed around with and you said some coding was done? Does that not involve the ECU? Anyway, for your sake I hope you never have to use the warranty, or if you do, you don't get someone who is very pedantic (like for this MPPSK install).
Bought the car, knowing it was an known issue. Why did you have to replace it? Didn't you only just buy the car?

I'm over it. Not bothered. Couldn't care less.
Sigh, Mr fox, I'm unsure why this matters? You bought a car from a dealer and couldn't care less than it needed £1k spending to fix something?
Why didn't they pay?

I believe he’s previously mentioned that he got the car at a discounted rate due to the fact it wasn’t working
Do you now see, why this is a non issue and not for the dealer to deal with?
I’m probably flogging a dead horse, but with all this talk of tech I’m not familiar with, why wouldn’t a reputable dealer not just get this fixed before sale?
Is the car under warranty, and if so why not just demand it was fixed before purchase?

Correct; which is why he bought the car having "done a deal" with the dealer to offset the cost of repair and save a journey. The fact it would cause an issue fitting an exhaust isn't "obvious" at all.I don't think any hindsight is required to avoid a car this new with a fault the dealer isn't prepared to fix before sale.
