I just wish they did them with a white interior, similar to the G8x.Chris Harris seems to love it. Bit annoying having just got an F87 M2 to know the new car is a lot better, but it's also a hell of a lot more £ comparing list to list!

I've done a full U-turn of not liking the new M2 to seriously considering it.
I know people would be like 'Google maps / Android Auto / Carplay' but managed to get RTTI for my 2013 LCI F10 - I thought the 3G shutdown would have meant this wasn't possible but maybe in the UK it still works! I like using the stock nav, got the latest maps etc!
BMW gurus. My bro has a new 2023 m sport 2 series gran coupe whereas I have the M235i 2 series gran coupe. I believe I'm right in saying I have an 8 speed dual clutch transmission. But is the m sport the same? He has an auto but I wondered if it was the same box as the M235i. Cheers.
I think you're right. The FWD models like the 128ti and even the 4WD M135i use an Aisin 8 speed. I think the ZF8 'box can't be used with transverse engines. The only BMW's I'm aware of that use DCT are the M models, but as I said, that I'm aware of.I think they're using an Aisin gearbox in the front wheel drive cars (which an M235i falls under).
It used to be ZF8 gearboxes in everything, but that doesn't seem to be the case now... I would suspect they'll be the same gearbox though.
Yours is unlikely to be dual clutch, they'll both be torque converters.
I am not 100% though on the latest models...! Perhaps someone else has a better idea.

I think the X1/X2 use a dual clutch, or used to.
Fix it, keep it.Hi all, looking for some collective wisdom!
I have a company car arriving shortly which means my trusty E92 is now surplus to requirements.
I'm trying to wrap my head around what to do next, and what the values really are (pennies compared to some of the metal here, I appreciate!), Motorway/Carwow/WBAC are all pretty much a muchness, £1,500 to £2,000.
Dealers are sticking theirs up for £4k+ with similar spec and models, and eBay values are all over the place, but who knows whether they actually sell or not (I doubt it, personally).
The quirk of this sale does come with the caveat that my car needs work, nothing major that can't be done in a weekend or two, but it's really the cost I'm trying to avoid. I've always maintained my cars well (at least mechanically), but since the company car was ordered I've lapsed on a few bits and pieces. It needs two front tyres (still legal for a few thousand miles) which will be £280 for the pair, it needed a service last month inc spark plugs which I est to be £250, needs a transmission flush ideally as the auto box is getting a little hesitant in certain situations, another £200 I guess or so, maybe more, and the xenon bulbs need changing, £150 for the pair. I estimate about £1k worth of work which isn't the end of the world in and of itself, but ultimately I'll spend a grand and it won't add a penny to the value IMO.
And finally, I'm not intending on leaving my place of work, however the world seems to be ever changing at a fast pace and if - for whatever reason - I found myself without a job, I'd be without a car. The markets are up in the air at the moment as we all know, and for £1k or so I can get the E92 properly sorted and put away, and then it's good to go if I ever need it again. So it'll "cost" me £3k effectively, with what I won't make on the sale and costs to put it right, but I know it'll be a sorted car when/if I need it. I won't find a better car for me for £3k in a year, two years, etc. Conversely, storage will cost £100 per month, so in two years it'll cost itself again.
It's not going up in value, either - it's a 2006 330i SE with an auto box, with 120k on the clock; maybe in 2050 it'll start getting collectable but it's no LCI, manual, pristine M3. I've had it four years however and outside of maintenance and the above work required, it's served me well.
My options as I see them:
- Get shot of it on Motorway which is offering £2k
- Sort out the issues which need sorting immediately, and sell privately for maybe £3k or £4k?
- Stick it away in storage and keep for a day when I might need it again, if I ever leave this job etc.?
There were a few moans from people about the DCT - no initial creep without tapping throttle, reverse/1st gear clunky. I find it fine TBH, similar to my old ford mondeo getrag DCT without creep, especially the cold clunky behaviourThanks all for the gearbox clarification. Is it not odd for the range topper to not have the dual clutch?

Can't say fairer than that. No, because the one you have is better.
I would be happy to have avoided it
