BMW and M Power Owners

Wheels done, hopefully picking up tomorrow. Never using F1 Autocentre again.
Finding someone who can fit rubber these days without destroying your wheels is almost impossible these days. The place I went to denied all knowledge of damaging the paint even though I watched them do it

Why is it so hard to get ahold of BMW Bodyshops... bah.

Been trying to get a hold of them all week to book in for a new door pull that they broke during the repair of my 440i. And I want to disclose the list of issues I found with their work.
Such as:
- wing brackets that are visible on engine bay are a vastly different colour of white. Clearly new parts and making is very clear that car has been crash damage repaired.
- top wing mounts to body were supposed to be renewed and welded on. Yet they look like they have been JBWelded on and its a real mess under the plastics.
- top of wing is too high, causing a large gap between wing and pillar. Big enough to fit my phones S Pen down. Can't fix without repositioning of the dodge looking mounting points under it.
- passenger side door seal is loose and misplaced. Causing road noise to enter cabin far more than expected.

Only a few issues, and mostly easy to solve (apart from wing mount..)

Resorted to calling BMW accident line to report the issues with the repair. So that they can sort it out.

Why is anything like this not as simple as it should be?

I visibly recorded a video of all of my wheels when I had my 4 ps5s fitted. Seemed to promote the guy to not go rough but also gave me some evidence!
There's a local place that I've used for the best part of ten years and I've never had a single issue with damage to the wheels or tyres. However, they quoted £950 for the full set, and F1 was £739.30 so quite a decent saving. I should have gone back to my usual place to see what they could do, hindsight eh.

I did go back to the place I purchased the wheels from but his fitting machine was down. Should have gone back a few days later. An expensive mistake

Evening all

Been toying with the ideal of a 440i GT and been to my like BMW dealer to take a look, nothing there but there is one in my price range, are they juicy on the fuel? Im by no means heavy footed but had diesel's for 7+ years, anything I should be aware of with these, will aim to by from a main dealer just incase …. Thanks

@iMacMart
If you're going to buy used (B58 without MHT), expect MPG to be 40-42 on motorway.
If I hypermile and if traffic allows, can hit 50mpg - all on a 3L petrol! Hit 54MPG a few times during nighttime when there was little traffic around and sat on cruise control.

Urban/inner-city MPG is 26-28
Start-stop traffic is where the MPG really tanks (18-22) if you like to turn off the auto start-stop - this is probably where the newer models with MHT would help if you're buying new/nearly new

Please don’t spend £30k on an F3x 40i.

Their prices are currently dropping quite rapidly, because they should never have been 30k.

It’s a good car, but it’s not a 30k car.
Have to agree with my learned friend here. They're lovely cars, I have an F36 myself and like it very much but it's nearly a decade old technology, albeit with a refresh here and there to bring it slightly more up to date. The new G models are where you should be looking but chances are your budget would need to go up a bit.

You’d easily get a G30 (5 Series) 540i for that kind of money. It won’t have the hatch boot, but it’ll be a better car in almost every other way.

The 4 series isn’t a bad car at all. I had a 3 series from the same gen, a 2014 car. When I came to sell it and upgrade, I looked at a 340i for 25k and just couldn’t pull the trigger on it.

Third here. I was looking at them just over a year ago and was seeing them for around £26k. £30k is way too much for one of these

Thanks all

When I popped into the BMW dealer yesterday I said my budget was 25k-30k obviously he went with my highest budget!

Can someone kindly link me to a G30 5 series please? Or what you’d recommend I look at, I had a 5 series 3 years back and when I was in the dealership yesterday I got all excited about having a BMW again, just need to keep my power dry so to speak :)

This caught me eye - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202312064607415
