BMW and M Power Owners

Yea cov and Leicester BMW are both the same distance from me.
I'm in Hinckley

I tried this battery in my ATM unit prior to having BMW replace the whole thing (mine was water damaged as it turned out)
Car Battery Replacement for BMW F20 F30 F31 G20 G21 G30 Car, Portable TCB Emergency Battery 84102447710 2447710, 330mah Battery https://amzn.eu/d/6W4vVNk
Just down the road and definitely not too far away then

After a bit of help with my car. On the way to work Friday entering the 1st roundabout in Milton Keynes it suddenly popped out of drive and into neutral, shutting off the engine. Anyone else experienced this on a DCT box,

No, get it looked at asap. A DCT shouldn’t slip out of gear in normal operating conditions.

Hot damm...my SOS battery died and BMW quoting £500 for a replacement. Apparently not covered on insured warranty because the battery is a consumable lol
Must be the time of year, mine went as well! Haven't reached out to BMW yet but car is still under insured warranty as well, I'd really struggle to understand how it's possible for it to not be covered.. I could maybe understand the actual part (as it's a battery) the associated cost is with the labour as they have to peel back all the headlining to get to it!

It depends how they approach it.
BMW way is to remove all the trim and peel it all back.
That's why is so labour intensive.

Can also just pull down the roof lining and shove your hand up there and pull it out. Use Hot glue or Double sided tape to resecure the linings after...

The 140i threw a fit over the weekend, battery discharge warning. Left it over the weekend on a trickle charger and thankfully seems okay now. Was really struggling to start in the morning in the extreme cold we've been having.

For the telematics battery depending on the model might be under the boot floor it's also a different battery 84109297787 but very easy to change as BMW changed mine for free if I paid for the battery during a service. I was a bit sceptical they'd replaced it as I thought they were all in the roof but it was 2 mins to lift the cover to get to it.

It's because of the cold. Need more juice from the battery but the battery is dying and can't hold the charge

Yeah Rybrook confirms it isn't covered under insured (extended) warranty. Have emailed sytner to see if they will.
I found a place that will do it for £195 but it's in Reading. And also I've emailed another independent to see if they can do it for cheaper.
failing the above I'll go pay @Diagro a visit with a six-pack of beer lol.

If you come over, bring the new battery from amazon and we'll shove it in.
I don't drink alcohol though. A pack of cookies will do me plenty haha

If you have an extended warranty also worth getting the genuine battery from a dealer on eBay as a non BMW battery will very likely invalidate the warranty on the telematics unit.
You gave a good point.

Not much more for a genuine one from BMW

excellent news my local bmw specialist has quoted me £160 for the job inclusive of VAT and the original BMW battery
sytner have not got back to me yet, but i don't think they will be able to match £160

Nice going.
£100 isn't bad if they go at it correctly. Grats!
